🙏 Virtue of the Week: Orderliness 🙏

This week we reflect on the virtue of orderliness. As children of God, we are called to live in harmony with His plan by keeping our hearts, minds, and surroundings in order. Orderliness allows us to grow in discipline, to use our time and talents wisely, and to create an environment of peace where Christ’s love can flourish. Families are encouraged to practice this virtue together—whether in prayer, schoolwork, or daily routines—so that all we do may give glory to God.

🍂✨ Kids in the Darla Quail Craft Club got creative this week! They decorated coffee sleeves to be donated to the Ronald McDonald House and crafted beautiful autumn lanterns using paper bags with leaf cutouts, colorful tissue paper, and tea lights to bring a warm glow to cool fall evenings. 🕯️🍁

A heartfelt thank you to Mrs. Trippier for your wonderful service to our community and to our art teacher, Mrs. Metzger, for guiding and inspiring our students with creativity. 💛

🌟 Virtue of the Week: Justice 🌟

This week, we are reflecting on the virtue of justice—giving each person what is rightfully due to them, guided by love and fairness. Justice calls us to respect the dignity of others, honor our responsibilities, and live in harmony with God’s will.

✨ For Students:

Treat classmates with kindness and fairness, especially in play and group work.

Take turns, share, and stand up for what is right, even when it’s hard.

Show gratitude and respect to teachers, parents, and peers.

✨ For Parents:

Encourage conversations at home about fairness and respect.

Model justice by listening patiently, keeping promises, and showing compassion.

Remind children that justice is not just about rules, but about love in action.

🌟 Virtue of the Week: Prudence 🌟

This week at St. Mary School, we are focusing on the virtue of prudence. Prudence is the habit of making good decisions by pausing, praying, and choosing what is right in God’s eyes.

✨ How can we practice prudence?

Pause before acting – Think about the consequences of your choices.

Pray for guidance – Ask the Holy Spirit to help you choose wisely.

Seek advice – Listen to parents, teachers, and trusted friends who guide you in faith.

Choose what is right – Even when it’s hard, choose the action that brings you closer to Christ.

Students will be encouraged to use prudence in the classroom, on the playground, and at home. Parents, thank you for modeling this virtue and helping your children grow in wisdom and holiness. 💙✝️

Affirmation acknowledges the goodness of who the child is, while consistency in boundaries teaches them how to live that goodness in relation to others. In this sense, discipline is not punishment, but a way of forming character through love.
