The DACC Board of Education placed an issue on the November ballot as a 10-year renewal levy with a reduction.

The current levy is 1.7 mils. The proposed levy would be 0.75 mils, a reduction of 0.95 mils.

The County Auditor estimates the levy would cost approximately $18 per $100,000 of home value.

As a public school district, DACC shares factual information only and does not advocate for or against ballot issues.

Behind every number is a student who said, "I want to learn this."

Interest in career and technical education remains strong across our community. While more students continue to apply to DACC programs than we can currently serve, this year's waitlist is lower than last year's, thanks in part to the addition of a second Cosmetology section.

It's an encouraging reminder that creating new opportunities for students makes a difference.

That's why DACC continues to look for ways to expand access through program growth, including plans for new Electrical Trades, Veterinary Science, and Teacher Academy programs, as well as an additional Clinical Medical Assisting section.

Every new opportunity means more students can explore their interests, develop valuable skills, and prepare for their future.

Ever have one of those days when you're just putting out fires all day long?

Our Fire Service students can relate. Luckily, they agree that practice makes perfect, so they were happy to spend the day fighting these flames. Yesterday's live burn training demonstrated the grit, determination, knowledge, and skills they're building to save lives when tragedy strikes.

October is a busy and important time for industry engagement at DACC.

Throughout the month, we welcome business and industry partners to campus for job fairs and advisory committee meetings. These opportunities bring professionals and educators together to discuss workforce trends, emerging skills, and the future of their industries.

Those conversations help ensure DACC programs remain relevant, responsive, and connected to real-world opportunities for students.

We are grateful to our business partners for investing their time and expertise in our programs and for their continued commitment to empowering, preparing, inspiring, and connecting DACC students to future careers.
