Welcome back to Cheshire, Mrs. Leeds!

After 12 years serving as an assistant principal in various buildings, Heidi Leeds is set to be the lead principal for the first time as she takes over this school year at Olentangy’s Cheshire Elementary School on Gregory Road in Delaware.

This year's Cheshire Family tailgate will be taking place on Friday, August 21st. Drop in from 5 PM - 6:30 PM before the Olentangy Berlin Home football game! Principal Leeds will be grilling up her best hot dogs, and there will be chips and condiments provided too. Bring your own family friendly drinks (no alcohol please), your Cheshire spirit, and perhaps a lawn chair or a picnic blanket. The PTO will have bubbles, music, tattoos, and a couple lawn games available too. We can't wait to see you there! The football game begins at 7 PM and all Cheshire students will get in free with a paying adult should you desire to attend.

TODAY’S THE DAY, KINDERGARTEN CUBS!

Our Kindergarten Playdate is happening TODAY (Thursday, 8/13)!

📍 Cheshire Playground
⏰ Drop in anytime from 5:30PM–7:30 PM

🍦 And there’s an extra treat! Ciao Cafe will be joining us, and every incoming kindergartener gets ONE sweet treat on us, compliments of the Cheshire PTO! 🎉

Grown-ups & siblings can purchase some delicious goodies from the truck, too!

Come play, connect, meet new friends, and get excited for kindergarten! We’ll see you on the playground! 🐾💙

Transportation:
Contact the Transportation Department at 740-657-4080 with any questions about your child’s bus, route or driver. Bus
numbers and route information will be posted in PowerSchool no later than Thursday, August 13.

Absences:
Parent/guardian must call the school at 740-657-5750 if his/her child will be absent, no later than 10 a.m. on the day of
the absence. A call may be made anytime and a voice message left. Please include the child’s name, grade level,
teacher’s name, and reason for the absence. A doctor’s note or note from parents is required.

Dismissal:
All teachers must be notified of any changes to your child’s normal dismissal plan. The child’s normal dismissal plan will
be followed without a note from a parent. The students may:
• Ride school bus or daycare bus
• Parent sign student out in the office
• Car Rider (Teacher must have a note from the parent before they send a student to the commons for
dismissal)
• Y-Club before/after school care program (Parents must pre-register their child for this YMCA program)

Recess:
Children are expected to be properly clothed for daily outside play. Students will be outside for recess when:
• The temperature is 20 degrees or above
• Or the wind chill is 15 degrees or above
