Another unforgettable week of summer at Stratford!

We kicked off our first week of Farm Camp with our 4th–7th grade campers, welcomed an amazing group of Teen Camp participants, and celebrated our very first overnight camp of the summer! From exploring the farm and caring for animals to making memories under the stars, it was a week full of adventure, learning, and fun.

Our incredible volunteers continued to make the magic happen, lending a helping hand around the farm and creating such a special experience for every camper. We are so grateful for your time, energy, and heart!

Teen Camp also got to experience a day in the life of our agriculture team by helping bale hay, and our campers showed what it means to care for their community by donating an incredible 120 pounds of nonperishable food to People in Need (PIN)!

Thank you to everyone who made this week one to remember. We can’t wait to see what the rest of the summer has in store!

Meet Bryce!

Bryce first joined Stratford as a Summer Camp Counselor in 2024 before continuing her journey through AmeriCorps on our Education Team. During her year of service, she discovered her passion for environmental education, grew both personally and professionally, and found a career she truly loves.

Today, Bryce serves as Stratford’s Education Program Coordinator, where she inspires curiosity and helps connect people of all ages with the natural world. We’re so grateful that AmeriCorps helped lead her to Stratford, and we can’t wait to see the impact she’ll continue to make!

We’re currently looking for 5 AmeriCorps Volunteers to join our team for the 2026–2027 service term!

Today, we’re spotlighting current AmeriCorps member Annie and the impact her service term has had on her personal and professional growth.

Throughout her year of service, Annie has combined her passions for agriculture and education by teaching children about farm life, where their food comes from, and the importance of caring for our environment. Along the way, she’s gained hands-on experience in environmental conservation, developed new skills, and discovered new opportunities to grow in the field.
An AmeriCorps is more than a year of service. It’s an opportunity to gain experience, build lasting connections, and make a meaningful impact while exploring future career paths.

Behind every child collecting their first egg, every tree tapped, every field trip, every first taste of a garden tomato, and every unforgettable day at Stratford
there are heroes like these. They just wear overalls and muck boots instead of capes.

Jeff has been baling hay at Stratford for 35 years. Beside him are Mariah, who began her journey through AmeriCorps and is now our full-time Assistant Farm & Land Steward, and Brendan and Ethan, who have spent the last two years serving through AmeriCorps and have become an essential part of this team.

But they represent something much bigger than this photo.

They represent every volunteer who arrives at 7:00 a.m. on the hottest days of summer and the coldest mornings of winter because they believe this place matters.

They represent every supporter who invests not only in programs, tractors, fencing, healthy soils, and equipment, but in people. Because when you invest in people, you cultivate the messengers who help thousands of children and families build a relationship with nature.

We often share photos of children falling in love with the earth because they are our future and it’s why we do what we do. Today, we’re celebrating the people who quietly make those moments possible. The ones who show up every day to bale hay, care for animals, restore habitats, grow food, and create the conditions for wonder and learning to grow.

Nature teaches us that nothing thrives in isolation. Healthy ecosystems are built through relationships, each one strengthening another. Stratford is no different.

To our farmers, land stewards, AmeriCorps members, volunteers, supporters, and everyone who has helped weave this remarkable community, thank you.

Happy Fourth of July. đŸ‡ș🇾

Another week of Stratford summer magic is in the books!☀

We wrapped up our final week of Farm Camp with our incredible first through third grade campers. From meeting the farm animals to exploring nature and making new friends, it was a week full of smiles, learning, and lasting memories.

A huge thank you to all of our wonderful counselors and volunteers who make Farm Camp such a special place. We couldn’t do it without you!

Next week, we’re excited to welcome our fourth through seventh grade campers as we kick off another month of unforgettable Farm Camp adventures!

To celebrate National Pollinator Week, our amazing volunteers spent time at PIN (People In Need), sharing pollinator plants, fresh carrots, and herbs with community members.

We also want to thank everyone who joined us for Pollinator Palooza! It was wonderful celebrating the importance of pollinators with our community, and we hope you had as much fun as we did.

Stratford’s office will be closed Friday and Saturday in observance of the Fourth of July. We wish everyone a safe, happy, and festive holiday weekend!

Last week at Stratford was full of summer farm baby excitement! We kicked off the week by welcoming Stratford’s newest baby goat, Skunk, and saying hello to eight baby chicks.

We also welcomed more than 50 first through third grade campers to the farm. Campers loved learning how to safely hold chickens, enjoying Stratford’s delicious strawberries, and, of course, showering our newest farm babies with plenty of love.

Our awesome campers also collected and donated more than 60 pounds of canned food and other pantry items to People In Need, Inc. (PIN), helping support local families in our community.

And of course, none of Stratford’s magic would be at all possible without our wonderful volunteers. In addition to helping maintain the farm, they shared their knowledge with campers by teaching them about gardening, where our food comes from, and how we can care for our Earth.
We can’t wait to see what adventures, discoveries, and memories the rest of the summer will bring!
