FFA LEADERSHIP NIGHT + CARD TOURNAMENT!

DACC FFA members—here’s another opportunity to build leadership skills, connect with other FFA members, give back to the community, and have some fun!

Join us at Benjamin Logan High School on November 17 from 5:00–6:30 PM for Leadership Night followed by an EPIC Card Tournament!

Students will compete in Spoons, Euchre, Uno, Piles, and Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza while networking with FFA members from other chapters. As part of the evening, chapters will also contribute materials for tie blankets to give back to the community.

DACC FFA SEATS ARE LIMITED TO THE FIRST 15 MEMBERS!

DACC FFA TAKES ON SUMMIT CAMP!

Our DACC FFA students had an incredible experience at FFA Summit Camp at Camp Muskingum! From leadership activities and team-building challenges to meeting FFA members from across Ohio, this trip was about so much more than just getting away from the classroom.

FFA is about developing leaders, building confidence, creating connections, and preparing students for their futures. Summit Camp gives students the opportunity to step outside their comfort zones, strengthen their communication skills, work as a team, and network with other young leaders who share the same drive to succeed.

And they had an absolute BLAST doing it!

There was plenty of laughter, new friendships, great memories, and experiences these students will be talking about for a long time. These are the moments that help turn students into leaders—learning how to communicate, work together, support one another, and lead by example.

We are incredibly proud of our DACC FFA members for representing our school and chapter and for taking advantage of opportunities like this to LEARN, LEAD, GROW, and CONNECT!

PSDT IS RUNNING FULL THROTTLE!

The Power Sports & Diesel Technology Program is BUSY—and our students are putting in the work every single day!

Our shop continues to grow with the addition of our NEW 20,000-LB LIFT, and the diesel work is already lining up! More equipment means more opportunities for our students to diagnose, repair, troubleshoot, and develop the real-world skills employers are looking for.

Our Seniors are stepping up, and many are getting out into the workforce through Work-Based Learning, gaining valuable experience while representing PSDT and DACC in the industry. That’s what Career Technical Education is all about—taking what you learn in the classroom and shop and putting it to work in the REAL WORLD!

There is A LOT happening, and we’re just getting started!

One of the best parts of Parent-Teacher Conferences was getting the opportunity to sit down with families and talk about the growth, accomplishments, goals, and futures of our students. Parents and families are a huge part of our PSDT family, and their support makes a difference.

Between the shop, diesel projects, FFA, Work-Based Learning, competitions, leadership opportunities, and community events, our students are building much more than technical skills. They are learning WORK ETHIC, LEADERSHIP, ACCOUNTABILITY, TEAMWORK, RESPECT, and PRIDE IN THEIR CRAFT.

Will is planning to enroll in CDL school in the spring once he has completed all his sports seasons. He will also graduate from BV and the DACC Power Sports program this spring.

PSDT WEEK 3 IS IN THE BOOKS!

It’s hard to believe we’re only three weeks into the school year when you look at how much these students have already accomplished and, more importantly, how much they have GROWN.

We started by learning the importance of pride, respect, and tradition, including standing together and saying the Pledge of Allegiance.

Our students have been working hard to memorize the FFA Creed, learning that FFA is about much more than agriculture—it’s about leadership, responsibility, hard work, and becoming someone others can depend on.

OSHA training is getting completed, giving our students an understanding of workplace safety and the responsibility they have to themselves and everyone working beside them.

Students are also putting in serious work on their Briggs & Stratton Master Service Technician training, developing the technical knowledge that will follow them from the classroom into the shop and eventually into their careers.

And the PSDT shop is already coming alive! Students are welding, fabricating, building, troubleshooting, and getting projects ready for the Delaware County Fair. We’re only three weeks in, and sparks are already flying!

But the biggest accomplishment isn't something hanging on the wall, sitting on a workbench, or recorded in a gradebook.

It's the FAMILY we're building.

We’re learning how to lead.
We’re learning how to follow.
We’re learning how to communicate.
We’re learning to treat one another with RESPECT.
And we're learning that when one of us succeeds, WE ALL SUCCEED.

PSDT isn't just about diesel engines, power equipment, welding, fabrication, or earning certifications. It's about developing young men and women who know how to WORK, LEAD, RESPECT OTHERS, and TAKE PRIDE IN WHAT THEY DO.

Three weeks down—and we're just getting started.

The doors are open.
The lifts are going up.
The welders are firing.
The tools are turning.
Engines are coming apart.

And another year of PSDT IS RUNNING WIDE OPEN!

This year we've got the perfect combination — RETURNING TALENT, NEW TALENT, AND A WHOLE LOT OF MOTIVATION.

These students didn't choose PSDT to sit behind a desk and watch somebody else work.

THEY CAME HERE TO BUILD.

Turn wrenches.
Strike arcs.
Diagnose problems.
Build engines.
Work on heavy equipment.
Chase horsepower.
Learn performance.
Fabricate and repair.
Compete.
Earn certifications.
Become SKILLED TRADESMEN AND WOMEN.

Around here, GOOD ENOUGH ISN'T GOOD ENOUGH.

We expect you to show up.

We expect you to work.

We expect you to learn.

We expect you to fail sometimes — AND THEN FIGURE OUT WHY, FIX IT, AND COME BACK BETTER.

Because PSDT isn't just about building engines, welding metal, or repairing equipment.

I’m incredibly proud and blessed to say that I have graduated from Bowling Green State University with my Master of Education, with a focus on Career Technical Education.

This one means a lot.

Growing up in Marion, Ohio, I never could have imagined all the places life would take me or the opportunities I would have. To make it from where I started to where I am today—and to have the opportunity to become the person I wanted to be—is something I will never take for granted.

I tell my students all the time: Never become lazy. Chase your dreams. Work hard. Never settle. There will always be obstacles, setbacks, long days, and people who doubt you. Keep moving forward anyway. This degree is proof that if you are willing to put in the work, believe in yourself, and refuse to quit, you can accomplish more than you ever thought possible.

There are probably a million people I could thank for helping me reach this point, and there are simply too many to name. So I’ll say this: If you have made a positive mark on my life at any point along the way, you are part of this accomplishment. Whether you challenged me, encouraged me, taught me, believed in me, or simply stood beside me—thank you. I am forever grateful.

Most importantly, thank you to my family. You have dealt with the long nights, the stress, the grumpiness, the sacrifices, and me being gone far too much over the last 26 years. Through every chapter, you have continued to stand beside me.

Degrees, careers, titles, awards, and accomplishments are great—but my family will always be my greatest accomplishment. You are the reason I continue pushing myself to be better. You inspire me to chase greatness, keep growing, and never quit until I stop breathing.

And I’m not finished yet.

Next up: Administration classes. I don’t know exactly where the next chapter will lead, but I know I’m going to keep learning, keep growing, keep challenging myself, and keep chasing the next goal.

From Marion to the Army, from the classroom to a Master’s degree—every chapter has helped build the next one.

Never settle. Never stop learning. Never stop chasing your dreams.

PSDT WEEK 1 IS IN THE BOOKS!

What a way to kick off the school year! Our Power Sports & Diesel Technology students hit the ground running, and we definitely haven’t wasted any time getting to work.

In just the FIRST WEEK, students have already:

Enrolled in OSHA 10-Hour Safety Training
Enrolled in the Briggs & Stratton Technician Training Program
Completed TWO Pre-WebXam assessments to establish a baseline and see where we’re starting this year
Started learning and reviewing shop safety procedures
Began Tool Room Operations, including proper tool identification, checkout, accountability, organization, and care
Received a Welcome T-Shirt from DACC Administration
And enjoyed some ice cream courtesy of DACC Administration to help celebrate the start of a great new school year!

And this is only WEEK 1!

The goal from day one is to start building the habits expected in the real world: SAFETY, ACCOUNTABILITY, WORK ETHIC, TEAMWORK, and PROFESSIONALISM.

There’s a lot ahead of us this year—engines, diesel, hydraulics, electrical, welding, fabrication, diagnostics, industry credentials, FFA competitions, hands-on projects, and plenty of time in the shop.

A big THANK YOU to DACC Administration for welcoming our students and helping us kick off the year on a great note!

Proud of the way these students have started. The bar has been set—now it’s time to keep building!

Very special shout out to Amilia Currier who joined the US ARMY Reserves as a 91B (Light Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic). As an 11th grade HS student she made a serious commitment to our country and invested in herself! I couldn't be prouder 🇺🇲 i was very happy to witness her swear in ceremony with her family. I was also lucky enough to give her a challenge coin (her 1st) from my Army career.
