URGENT MESSAGE - UPDATE
Dear Families,
We are heartbroken to share that House in the Wood, Lake Delavan, and the surrounding area were struck by a severe thunderstorm over the weekend, causing significant damage across camp. Downed trees, damage to several facilities, and the loss of electricity, water, and Wi-Fi have made it unsafe to operate.
Thankfully, no campers were on site at the time of the storm. We are also grateful to report that all staff members and our Outdoor Education Center's instructional animals are safe and unharmed.
As a result, we must cancel the July 5–10 Teen Camp session and the July 12–17 Session 2. We know how disappointing and unexpected this news is, and we sincerely apologize for the disruption to your family's summer plans.
Our team is actively assessing the damage and working with utility providers, contractors, and insurance representatives to determine the full extent of the impact and whether later sessions can safely proceed. We are also exploring whether these canceled sessions may be rescheduled later this summer. We will share updates as soon as we have more information.
If camp is rescheduled and your child is unable to attend, we will provide a full refund of any fees paid.
Thank you for your understanding, patience, and support as we work through this unprecedented situation.
