Friday night was one we won’t soon forget. 🇺🇸

American Mosaic: Portraits of a Nation was more than a concert, it was an opportunity to create memories, share music with our community, and experience something new and different together.

From the first note to the final bow, the evening brought together so many incredible people and musical voices. We were honored to share the stage and space with Leroy Wilson, Dr. Chadley Ballantyne, Dr. Ryan Pearson and the Stetson University Choir, and our guest conductor Dr. Nicholas Enrico Williams, whose artistry and presence helped make the evening truly special.

A special thank you to Dr. Brandon Loos, our producer, for helping bring the vision of this concert to life and for all of the work that happens behind the scenes to make an evening like this possible.

Most importantly, this concert was about the people. Our students, faculty, guest artists, collaborators, families, friends, and everyone who walked through the doors made Friday night what it was. Seeing our musicians step into these moments, connect with our audience, and create something meaningful together is what this work is all about.

We are grateful for the opportunity to share this music, grateful for the memories we made, and grateful to everyone who shared this special evening with us.

What a night. What an experience. What a M O S A I C. 🇺🇸

The Second Annual Stetson University Conducting Symposium was a tremendous success!

This year, we welcomed conductors and observers from across the region for a day filled with conducting exercises, meaningful musical experiences, thoughtful conversation, and a shared passion for the art of conducting.

A heartfelt thank you to our featured clinician, Dr. Nicholas Enrico Williams, Director of Bands at the University of Georgia, for sharing his expertise, musicianship, leadership, and generosity with our participants. His insight and energy made this year’s symposium an incredibly valuable experience for everyone in the room.

We are especially grateful to our symposium sponsors, J.W. Pepper Sheet Music and Conn-Selmer, as well as Dean Dr. Washington Garcia and the Stetson School of Music, for their continued support of this growing event.

Most importantly, thank you to the incredible students of the Stetson University Symphonic Band for serving as our laboratory ensemble. Your musicianship, professionalism, and willingness to engage made the conducting experience meaningful for every participating conductor.

From the podium to the ensemble, there was something to be learned by everyone, conductors, students, and observers alike. The exchange of ideas, experiences, and perspectives continues to make this symposium something truly special.

And, of course, a huge shout-out to the Stetson Conducting Symposium Crew! So much work happens behind the scenes to make an event like this possible, and your dedication helped bring everything together.

Year two is in the books, and we are already looking forward to what comes next.

Delayed start, but an amazing experience!

Getting the opportunity to support our team and represent our University on the road is something we don’t take lightly. We appreciate everyone who helped make this experience happen.

What an experience it was to be across the field from the Bethune-Cookman University Marching Wildcats. Thank you, Dr. Wells and staff, for your hospitality and camaraderie. It was truly an honor.

As we celebrate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, we also celebrate the power of making music together and the incredible community that makes the Stetson University Bands and the School of Music so special.
