Earth School is taking a season off! We love creating nature-based, community-focused learning for kids and adults, and we’re getting ready to return to it fresh next spring.

We’re so grateful for the abundance of amazing homeschool programs in the area, and this fall I hope you find the perfect fit.

In the meantime, we’re immersed in our first tea harvest, and obsessed with making good tea. To be honest, we have a long way to go. Our three-year-old plants don’t have the history and flavor of 100-year-old tea bushes in China, India, or Sri Lanka. But we’ll keep working to create delicious black, green, oolong, and yellow teas, along with herbal tisanes. Here’s to a season of learning and growth for us all!

Six months into creating 2025, and our central FL community has shown up for the tea garden in a major way. A massive thank you to everyone who has collaborated with us: Energy Rising, Tamela Koshiol Art, This Bamboo Life, Carissa Paige Art, and Florida Shroom King Andrew Johnson. To our learning facilitators Shelby and Lake Winona Farms, you made Earth School a great experience. This fall, immerse your teen in nature while sparking their creativity and problem-solving skills. Registration is now open for Earth School ages 13+ at Volusia Tea Garden. Sign up here:

On Tuesdays 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. teens will explore collaborative units that incorporate engineering, nature, and art. Every class focuses on sustainability, the use of natural materials, and mindful action. We’ll reflect on the natural world through Nature Study, and challenge each teen to use their unique gifts in an encouraging and supportive learning community.

I feel so much hope for this expansion of Earth School, and for my own teens to be part of it. Our fall season begins Tuesday, August 26th. Join us for the fall 2025 season of Earth School at Volusia Tea Garden.

In our homeschool enrichment program for ages 5-12, parents can relax onsite sipping tea and exploring our private forest trails, or learn alongside their children. Each week features earth-based learning: natural building, working with plant dyes, and using medicinal plants. We’ll learn to pluck and make tea, track animals, and do nature studies with different art mediums.

This season, we’re also offering a teen program for ages 13+ centered on creative problem-solving and creating in nature. Parents are welcome to drop teens off, or stay. We offer a significant sibling discount so the whole family can participate.

Registration opens June 1. Spaces are limited so we can welcome returning families and keep learners connected.
