A very bright star was celebrated last night at the monthly Super Star Student ceremony at the City of DeLand Commissioner’s Meeting. That incredible star ⭐️ was, Quinn from Team Hutchinson! Quinn was nominated for her ability to lead with compassion and heart, making her a standout safety patrol and 5th Grader. We congratulate Quinn, her family, and teachers for supporting her as we watch her do her Eagle Best, and Nothing Less. 🦅

📊 Why does my child take both PM and VBA1?

They may sound similar, but they tell us different things about your child’s learning.

🎯 PM looks ahead.
It shows where your child is compared to what they should know by the end of the school year. Some questions may cover things they haven’t learned yet—and that’s OK!

🔎 VBA1 looks at what they’ve learned so far.
It focuses on what has already been taught and helps teachers see what your child understands and where they may need more support.

Together, these assessments help teachers answer two important questions:

🔹Where is my student now?
🔹What do they need next?

Two assessments. Two different purposes. One shared goal: helping every student grow.
