St. Barnabas Episcopal School St. Barnabas Episcopal School is a private school in DeLand, FL with quality, Christian-based At St.

Barnabas Episcopal School, our educational philosophy is that each student reaches his or her full academic potential in a student-centered environment, where each student is embraced, nurtured, and respected as a unique child of God. From athletic programming and fine arts to our weekly chapel services, we strive to engage our students in learning through multiple disciplines. Empowering our students to gain a solid understanding of their moral and ethical obligations as members of our society is equally important. Their identities are formed by a Christian foundation of love that supports and challenges our students to build lives of genuine meaning, direction, and service in the world they will inherit.

A great school feels different.

You notice it in the hallways, see it during lunch, and experience it during athletic events, performances, chapel, and classroom discussions.

The culture of a school shapes every part of the student experience.

β€œThe vote is the most powerful nonviolent tool we have in a democratic society.” John Lewis Democracy in action at St. Barnabas Episcopal School! We are so grateful to the Volusia County Supervisor of Elections Office for partnering with us to conduct our Student Government Association (SGA) elections and give our students an authentic voting experience. At SBES, learning extends far beyond the classroom. Through experiences like these, our students are developing important life skills, learning the value of civic responsibility, understanding why every vote matters, and discovering the power of having a voice in their community. Congratulations to all of our SGA candidates! It takes courage to put yourself forward, share your ideas, and be willing to lead. We are proud of every student who stepped up to run and represent their fellow Crusaders. πŸ’™ Thank you to the Volusia County Supervisor of Elections Office for investing in our students and helping us prepare the next generation of informed, engaged, and responsible citizens. We also appreciate our parent volunteers who helped to coordinate the event along with Mrs. Hickman. At St. Barnabas, we are building leaders for tomorrow, one meaningful experience at a time!

Welcoming our alumni home to St. Barnabas Episcopal School is truly special and heartwarming! Our SBES alumni returned to campus last night to mentor our middle school students, sharing their high school experiences at DeLand High School’s International Baccalaureate Programme (IB) and Father Lopez Catholic High School. Through their stories, advice, and encouragement, they helped our students and parents look ahead with confidence and excitement for the opportunities that await them. It is always heartwarming to see our alumni thrive and to witness the strong foundation of faith, character, and learning that began here at SBES continue to shape their journeys. πŸ’™ Once a Crusader, Always a Crusader! πŸ’™

What does it mean to leave a legacy that impacts generations? In this inspiring episode of 𝘚𝘒π˜ͺ𝘯𝘡 π˜‰β€™π˜΄ π˜—π˜°π˜₯𝘀𝘒𝘴𝘡, host Paul Garcia welcomes longtime St. Barnabas supporter Pam Dean and Director of Marketing & Development Sarah McAskill for a heartfelt conversation about faith, generosity, Christian education, and investing in the future.

Pam shares her family's 30-year journey with St. Barnabas, how the school helped shape her sons into faithful young men, and why she established the Paul Dean Athletic Fund in honor of her late husband. Together, Pam and Sarah discuss the lifelong impact of Christian education, the importance of giving through time, talent, and treasure, and how every family can play a role in strengthening the St. Barnabas community for future generations.

Whether you're a current family, alumni, grandparent, donor, or simply passionate about Christian education, this episode offers an encouraging reminder that the greatest investments are the ones that leave a lasting legacy.

Our 5th graders took the stage today as they shared their SGA speeches with their classmates! From sharing their ideas to speaking with confidence, each student showed what it means to step up, be heard, and lead.

We’re incredibly proud of all of our SGA candidates for putting themselves out there and showing great courage and school spirit! πŸ‘πŸ’™
