Casa is looking for teaching assistants in our various environments for the upcoming 2018/2019 school year. If you or someone you know is exceptional working with young children, please email or call the school office (386-734-5454) to schedule an interview.

Must be at least 18 years of age and eligible to work in the United States.
Completion of 40 hours of DCF training a plus, but not a requirement
Must be able to complete DCF training within first 90 days of employment if not already completed.
Excellent at working with young children in a mixed age setting

Casa Montessori was visited by Colonel Sidney M. Gutierrez today. Gutierrez is a former NASA Astronaut and retired Air Force officer. He shared his experiences in becoming an astronaut and participating in two missions to space, once as the pilot and another time as the commander. He answered questions and talked to the students about following their dreams and never giving up. After the presentation, Colonel Gutierrez had lunch with Casa’s Adolescent students. He discussed the importance of STEM activities and encouraged the students to work hard to achieve their goals. It was an amazing experience for the whole Casa family!

As is our tradition at Thanksgiving, we had Cody Sawgrass come to the school and talk about the native tribes from our local area, and all across the nation. We were able to see authentic artifacts and learn how the original inhabitants of the area lived. We learned new words, and were treated to a dance and exhibition of spear throwing and shooting arrows with a longbow. It was a fantastic presentation that seems to get better every year!
