We had a meaningful learning experience as our BFA coordinator Ariel shadowed our BFA research faculty, Dr. Garcia, at her neuropsychology clinic 🧠

During the visit, Ariel observed clinical assessments and learned valuable tools and techniques used in neuropsychological evaluations, gaining deeper insight into patient care and research practices

We were honored to welcome a guest speaker, M. Lara, from the DeLand Fire Department to BFA and our Care Partner Support Group! 🚒🔥

Participants learned valuable tips on fire safety and emergency preparedness—empowering both individuals and care partners with knowledge that can truly make a difference.

We wrapped up the semester with such a wonderful day! 🧠💪💚
A “Hello” from Dr. Leila Roach, who started our Care Partner Group 4 years ago.

Dr. Schrager, our BFA President, led an insightful discussion on health challenges as baby boomers turn 80.

We loved seeing participants in matching BFA shirts and getting creative with a magnetic art therapy activity led by our amazing volunteer, Jeanne Marie. 🎨✨

Our BFA Coordinator, Ariel, attended the 2026 Florida Council on Aging Conference!

Highlights included “Happy Brains Need Conversation,” “Bringing Nutrition to Life: Mobile Cooking Demonstrations & Interactive Education for Healthy Aging,” and Dr. Josh Freitas’ session “Treating the Symptoms of Dementia Non-Pharmacologically: Lifestyle Medicine, Environment, and Evidence-Informed Care.”

We also heard policy updates from Robert Blancato, a powerful session by Judith Kozlowski on financial well-being in older adults, and learned about Jeremy Bloom’s inspiring Wish of a Lifetime program.

Grateful to bring these insights back to our BFA community
