🔬 Middle School Science in Action! 🧪

In Mr. Christopher’s 8th grade science class today the students explored predictions and hypotheses while learning how scientists work together as teams and use peer review throughout the scientific process.

After documenting their conclusions, the students got to enjoy a little treat—M&M’s! 🍫😊 It was wonderful to see them engaged, learning, and having fun while putting the scientific process into practice!

Way to go, Middle School! 👏🔬

We hope you have been enjoying a wonderful summer! As the start of the new school year quickly approaches, we are excited to invite you to our Meet the Teacher Night!
📅 Date: Wednesday, August 5, 2026
🕓 Time: 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM
📍 Location: Discovery Academy of DeLand
3395 Grand Ave., DeLand, FL 32720
This is a wonderful opportunity for your family to:
• 🍎 Meet your child's teacher(s)
• 🏫 Visit classroom and become familiar with the teacher
• 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Meet other Discovery Academy families
• 📸 Receive a FREE Back-to-School Picture for your child (students may wear their school uniform or their Sunday best)
• 👕 Purchase school uniforms (cash or check only $22.00 per polo)
• 🤝 Visit with local vendors and community partners
• 🍽️ Enjoy food available for purchase from our on-site food vendor
We encourage all families to attend as this is a great way to begin the school year, ask questions, and help your child feel excited and prepared for their first day of school.
