🎓🚁 CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR SWTX DRONE PILOT CLASS.

Southwest Texas College (SWTX) proudly congratulates our eleven Drone Pilot students who successfully completed their training on Tuesday, October 6, 2026. 🚁

Under the excellent instruction of Mr. Francisco J. Gamino, our students gained valuable knowledge of drone operations, FAA regulations, airspace safety, and responsible flying practices.

🌟 What's next? Our eleven students are now preparing to take their FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification Exam.

For more than 28 years, Dr. Watkins faithfully served Southwest Texas College, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to higher education and the communities we serve.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to his wife, Joy, their family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

SWTX Del Rio is hosting a Flu Vaccine Drive on Tuesday, October 6, from 11:00 AM–3:00 PM in the Amistad Room (A109), Building A.
The vaccine drive is open to faculty, staff, students, and their families. If you are insured, please remember to bring your insurance card. Vaccines will also be available through the Texas Department of State Health Services for those who are eligible.
