As many of you know, we do a lot of Academic studies at the preschool! It is very challenging and rewarding to see the growth in our students. Although the children know the names of the Continents, we decided to study each of the seven Continents over their summer break! We will be studying North America last because we will go straight into the States when we finish with the Continents! But what many of you may not know and could possibly help us out with is that we do numerous activities to dismiss the children every time we have a group session. We ask them to name the Planets, The Oceans, the 5 Great Lakes, opposites, rhyme words, birth dates, syllables in their names, spell their name, color combinations, colors that they are wearing in spanish, baby animals and where certain foods come from. They also know how many days are in the week and what day, month and year it is and count to that day on our calendar, the weather, math, science and cooking as well as arts and crafts! It would be helpful if you parents can play games with them especially on trips in the car, like making up rhyming words, the alphabet game: with signs or objects, opposites, naming animals in alphabetic order by taking turns, and reading them stories as often as possible!
