The emotions you go through you’re shooting content about the difference between coaching girls and coaching boys.
‼️
And there is a big difference.

Maybe, just maybe, one of these days youth sports organizations will stop using chronological age to categorize their athletes. Maybe they will find methods that assess skill and ability and place kids in programs and leagues that match their skill and ability.
👀
But doing that might actually help develop better athletes in the long run instead of developing athletes and teams that win at 10, 11 and 12 years old - times when winning matters very little in the long run.
🤷🏾‍♂️
By the way, we’re not just complaining here. We have solutions for every issue and complaint we elucidate.

When it comes to working with youth athletes, we will always stand for the athletes - even when the athletes, the parents, the sports coaches and the sporting organizations do not stand for the athlete.
🤷🏾‍♂️
We have one chance to properly develop young athletes.

Developing holistically elite athletes is the greatest thing a coach can do. The CLAY Level One course gives integral tools to set up a career of giving young athletes the physical, social and psychological vigor to thrive at play and at life.

Sooooooo…how do you get two young boys, who are all about racing, to do the warmup the proper way?
Here is one way.
You give different guidance.

Coaching is coaching, even in a socially distancing world.
Actually, this is more of an educational video than anything else. I’m showing one of our newest coaches how we work with 12 at one time. Yes, you only see six children in this video. But as coaches we have to account for coaching the six “athletes” and managing the six “young bodies and minds” traipsing around the field.
As you can see after the description of the exercises, the athletes are always in our vision, either direct site or in our peripheral vision. There is no point where we have our backs completely facing an athlete.
Keeping eyes on them is keeping attention on them. Turn the back on a group of five year olds for half a second and no telling what will happen with.
This was only for one station. A coach can easily view all the stations from the Broadjump mat and the from and the Prints as well.
