Orner-Cook Scholarship

Eligibility:
Graduating seniors of an Oklahoma High School.
A cumulative GPA ≥ 3.25.
Preference may be given for study in languages, international business/economics, petroleum/geology, history, psychology or sociology.

Financial need is considered.

Funds may be used for educational related expenses such as tuition, fees and books at any academically accredited nonprofit institution in Oklahoma. Payments are made directly to the school.

No more than six credit hours may be completed online each semester.

The Orner-Cook Scholarship is an endowed scholarship fund of the Oklahoma City Community Foundation that was established by Robert and Carolyn Cook Orner.

Award: $2,500.00

1. Please demonstrate your capacity for leadership by describing one extra-curricular activity you have participated in and explain how it has contributed to your goals.

2. Did you submit your household's FAFSA Student Aid Report (SAR) for the coming year when you completed the General Application? (NOTE: If you answered "no", please know that financial need may be considered for this scholarship, and to be eligible for this scholarship you need to return to the General Application and attach a FAFSA or a 1040 if you cannot complete the FAFSA.) If you are unable to complete the FAFSA, please be sure to indicate your financial circumstances on your

Hudiburg Family Scholarship

Eligibility:

A graduating senior for each Mid-Del Public School District high school (including Mid-Del Technology Center).

Must have been enrolled in the Mid-Del District schools for the two full academic years prior to graduation.

Oklahoma public colleges only.

A cumulative high school GPA ≥ 3.0

Funds may be used for educational-related expenses such as tuition, fees and books at any academically accredited two- year, four-year or vocational technical nonprofit public institutions in Oklahoma. Payments are made directly to the school. This scholarship is eligible for annual renewal.

Award: $1,000.00

After completing the General Application/Student Profile, applicants must submit the Supplemental Questions to complete the application.

Del City seniors are eligible to apply for the Elsie Mae “Nat” Glosemeyer Memorial Scholarship

The scholarship may be used at public schools (college or vocational) in Oklahoma. Funds may be used for tuition, fees and book expenses. Payments are made directly to the school. Financial need is considered.

The Elsie Mae ‘Nat’ Glosemeyer Memorial Scholarship was established in 1998 by friends and family of Ms. Glosemeyer to honor her work with students participating in the Oklahoma Job Training Partnership Act. The scholarship honors her work with students who were ‘at-risk’ of not fulfilling their educational potential.

Award: $2,500.00

The Community Foundation Scholars applicants must be graduating seniors of a high school that participates in the Central Oklahoma Guidance Counselor Network. Selection is based on applicant’s commitment to education and community (demonstrated extracurricular activities and community service). The Community Foundation Scholar award is a one-year award of $3,000 and can be used at any academically accredited public or independent/private, nonprofit educational institution in the United States including vocational/technical centers. Funds may be used for tuition, fees and book expenses; payments are made directly to the school.
Requirements
• Graduating senior of a high school that participates in the Central Oklahoma Guidance Counselor Network.
• Student has unweighted GPA between 3.25 and 3.79.
• Student’s application and letter of reference must demonstrate and describe the applicant’s commitment to education and commitments to community (extra-curricular activities and community service)

The WEOKIE Foundation will award 25 graduating seniors a scholarship of $2,000 each for a total of $50,000.

THE DETAILS...

Rules: Essay and application must be submitted electronically. Essays must be typed and double-spaced and no longer than two pages.

Topic: What does an adaptive leader mean to you? Describe a time in your life where you had to adapt to a situation. How did you step up to the opportunity? What did you learn from this experience?

DCHS will be giving the SAT for free during the school day on Thursday, October 28th.

All juniors will be required to test. Seniors may sign-up if they would like to take the test.
