On Thursday, June 25th, Mimi and NIU's Dr. Eric Junco co-presented at SELCON 2026, hosted by SEL4IL at National Lewis University. Their session, "Regulate, Connect, Teach: Practical SEL Structures that Build Belonging and Academic Engagement," explored how to embed the CASEL Three Signature Practices into everyday classroom routines.
DeKalb School District 428 attendees Sara Bates, Julie Stubblefield, and Nikkita Carrington also joined the conference, where they heard from ISBE's Dr. Tiffany Burnette and Yale's Dr. Marc Brackett on updated SEL standards and the importance of adult self-awareness and regulation.
Thank you to everyone who came out to learn, connect, and grow together!
