We are proud to celebrate Director of Clinics and Clinical Professor Wendy Hinton Vaughn on her election as President of the Winnebago County Bar Association! Through her work as supervising attorney of the Zeke Giorgi Legal Clinic in Rockford and her dedication to serving the wider community, Wendy has made a lasting impact on Winnebago County and the legal profession.

This summer, rising NIU Law 2L Jinan Askar will join KONE in Chicago as a summer intern through the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) Chicago. Working alongside KONE’s in-house counsel team, she will gain hands-on experience in corporate practice, develop practical legal skills, and continue building her professional foundation. Jinan’s accomplishments during her first year at NIU Law reflect her commitment to both academic excellence and campus engagement. She earned Champion Team honors in the 1L Closing Arguments Competition and serves as a Student Ambassador, demonstrating leadership both inside and outside the classroom.
