There was so much Huskie spirit in Arizona this weekend from our pregame reception to cheering on NIU football with hundreds of alumni and friends! The NIU Law Board of Visitors hosted their fall meeting on Saturday at our NIU Naperville campus. Following the meeting, the BOV were given a special tour of the space that will house our new part-time J.D. program. A sincere thanks to outgoing Chair Judge Kenya Jenkins-Wright (’03) for her outstanding leadership. We’re excited to announce our new 2026-28 BOV Executive Board: Chair Brent Eames (’09), Vice Chair Nancy McKeating (’78), and Secretary Julie Johnson (’07). We also welcomed new BOV member Howard Brookins (’88). Thank you to our Board of Visitors members for your continued leadership, advocacy, and commitment to the NIU College of Law!

The 2026 Board of Visitors Student Scholarship recipients, Lillian Cassell (1L) and Prabi Pyakurel (1L), attended Saturday’s Board meeting with Chair Judge Kenya Jenkins-Wright (’03) and Vice Chair Brent Eames (’09), where they had the chance to personally thank the Board members for their generous support. Lillian and Prabi’s accomplishments and commitment to pursuing a legal education are inspiring. We’re grateful to our BOV for investing in our students and making opportunities like this possible. Their generosity helps the next generation of NIU Law students pursue their goals and build a future in the legal profession.
