The NIU School of Music provides a strong artistic, intellectual, and practical foundation for professional careers in music. The school’s diverse performance opportunities range from traditional Western ensembles to jazz, contemporary, and world music groups. These offerings complement classroom and scholarly activities and help promote both a broad cultural perspective and the development of versatile musicians. Our School of Music faculty members are actively engaged, nationally and internationally, in creative and scholarly endeavors. Through these recognized achievements, the faculty informs students of the evolving demands and expectations of careers in music. As a School of Music, we serve the university, community, state, and region through outreach, performance, and educational activities.

Anne is a soprano, voice teacher, conductor, collaborative musician, and master clinician whose career encompasses performance, teaching, and advocacy for art song and choral music. She has performed and taught at countless events nationally and internationally throughout her career — we are so fortunate to have Dr. Gross joining us this year!

The White Sox hosted NIU Mariachi for a concert before Sunday's NIU Day game against the Guardians at Rate Field. Always a crowd favorite, the group has made a new tradition out of playing before White Sox and Bears games over the past few years.
