The Growing Place

The Growing Place The Growing Place is a not-for-profit organization that has provided quality early care and education for the families of DeKalb County since 1973.

In February 1973 Betty Drake established The Growing Place as one of the first not-for-profit child care programs in the area. Today, The Growing Place serves over 250 children, having served thousands over the last four decades. The Center has been enriched by its longstanding collaboration with Kishwaukee Community College, NIU, and District #428. The Growing Place also partners with Community Coordinated Child Care (4-C), Kishwaukee United Way, and DeKalb Chamber of Commerce.
