DeKalb / Sycamore Bookcase Project

Award ceremony - today, May 2nd, at Faranda’s Banquet Center, 302 Grove St, DeKalb, IL, at 3 p.m. Families & friends are welcome along with children receiving. Bookcases - 15th year!!

Another year promoting literacy with bookcases and books to students at Two Rivers Head Start - our 14th cycle! Thank you to all volunteers who have donated to this project!! Your support is appreciated and spreads a love of reading to the younger generation.

Award ceremony this Saturday, May 3rd, 3 p.m. at Faranda's Banquet Center, 302 Grove St Dekalb. Children and families receive books and bookcases. This completes our 14th year of this project!!

We have begun the 14th cycle - building 50 more bookcases with starter libraries for students at Two Rivers Head Start Agency in Sycamore, serving DeKalb County.

Completed 12th year Award ceremony! Another step in gowing literacy among preschool youth!!

We completed sorting books for the 12th year. Preparations are underway for the Award ceremony - May 20th, 3 p.m. at Faranda's Banquet Center. We are excited to return to the in-person event. Public attendance is welcome.

We have now completed the eleventh year of this project, having reached 550+ children with preschool reading materials!
Donations can be made to P.O. Box 1174, Dekalb, IL 60115 or books (pre-school reading level) can be dropped off at DeKalb County Housing Authority, 310 N Sixth Street, DeKalb.
