From confident one-word introductions to laughter-filled moments at the Fun Jam, our campers reminded us why this work matters. Grateful for every hand that helps us build up our youth and every partner who shows up for our community. This is what it looks like to invest in the next generation. Our campers have been having a blast and staying cool 😎🥳! They have been enjoying cooking during Chop Chef 🧑‍🍳, playing in the pool 🌊, and enjoying our amazing community❤️! Our campers have been planting and learning how to sharpen their gardening skills 😊! We can’t wait to see what activities the rest of camp brings ☺️🗣️

Thank you to DeKalb Township and the Committee on Youth for investing in our mission and in the young people we serve. The Committee on Youth works to prevent juvenile delinquency and support the well-being of underserved youth and their families across DeKalb Township — a purpose that lives at the very heart of everything we do at Building Leaders Advocating for Change.

This funding will help us continue delivering mental health support, leadership development, and academic support to youth in our community. We're grateful for partners who believe in the power of investing in the next generation. 💙 DeKalb Township

We had an amazing Juneteenth Weekend🥳🖤 celebrating at the New Hope Community gathering ☺️! We enjoyed playing Jumbo connect four 🧩 hopscotch with friends, and jumping some great double dutch😊.

First week of camp Successfully Completed ✔️ this week students put their STEM skills to use ⚙️ ⚒️. We created roller coasters, played flag football and dodgeball, along with many other fun interactive activities 😎. If you’re looking for a fun, safe place for your kids to enjoy summer fun we are still taking campers🥳❤️!

Kishwaukee United Way is proud to support Building Leaders Advocating for Change NFP: — BLAC, Inc., with a $1,000 contribution toward their Shoes for School effort, helping local youth start the school year with confidence, dignity, and the support of a community that believes in them.

This initiative will help provide new shoes for children in the Annie Glidden North neighborhood during Fun Jam in the Park, removing one more barrier for families preparing for back-to-school season. BLAC’s work with youth leadership, mental health, academic support, and community engagement reflects the kind of local partnership that strengthens DeKalb County.
