We are so proud of Emmi, a 4th grade student, for her outstanding accomplishments at the Defiance County Fair! Emmi earned Grand Champion Pullets, Grand Champion Egg Production Project, and 2nd Place in Showmanship!
While the awards are exciting, what makes these accomplishments truly special is the learning that happens through 4-H and fair projects.
The first two projects are judged on the quality of the animal and the work that went into raising and caring for it. Showmanship is different; it demonstrates how well the student knows their animal and how effectively they can present and handle it.
Through 4-H, students develop skills that extend far beyond the classroom. They learn:
Responsibility โ caring for their animals and meeting their daily needs.
Dedication โ investing time and effort into training and preparing their animals.
Knowledge โ learning about breeds, anatomy, health, care, production, and so much more.
Communication โ explaining what they know and answering questions from judges.
Self-confidence โ trusting in the knowledge they have gained and confidently sharing it with others.
These experiences teach students that learning isnโt limited to a textbook or a classroom. They are developing responsibility, perseverance, communication, confidence, and real-world skills that will serve them throughout their lives.
We love seeing our students succeed outside the classroom and watching them discover what they are capable of accomplishing!
Congratulations, Emmi! We are so proud of you and all the hard work you put into your projects! ๐๐๐๐
