I have a BA in Psychology from Gordon College (class of '89) and have taken computer courses at NHTI since then. I've taken Algebra 1 and 2, Geometry and Trigonometry in high school and Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Statistics, Research Methods and Calculus in college. I scored a 670 on the math portion of the SAT. I'm certain I could have scored even higher if I had more confidence in my abilities at that time. I spent too much time on some questions, wanting to be sure I got them correct, so I ran out of time before completing the test. I tend to be slow and methodical, which is a benefit for some students. I also scored in the top 1% in the country on a Mechanical Engineering aptitude test at Wentworth Institute in Boston, MA. I have been a volunteer tutor for "Project Lift" in Hillsborough, as well as for many individuals over the years. My sister, who has been a certified teacher at a private school in Massachusetts for many years, has been encouraging me to do this, saying that I was instrumental in teaching her math in primary and secondary school, even though she was two grades ahead of me. I was a "stay-at-home" father and educated my four children at home for 10 years. My 14 year old daughter is a straight A, award-winning, student in 9th/10th grade at a private school and my three sons are doing very well too. 2019 Update: My daughter is now in her third year of college and my eldest son is just beginning college for Architectural Engineering.
