Students from Walden Elementary School (along with Kipling Elementary School students) feed into Shepard Middle School. Walden has an active Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) whose volunteers help plan events, enrichment programs and fundraisers to support the teachers, students and school community.

🎨✏️ Our hallways just turned into an art studio! As a PAWS reward for showing great behavior, students got to participate in a Drop & Draw! Our artists flooded the hallways to create silly pictures and draw with their friends. We're so proud of our creative and respectful wildcats!🥳🖍

We have some incredible building leaders in 109🍎✨ October is National Principals Appreciation Month and this week we are giving each building a special shoutout 🔊 To kick this week off we are celebrating our leaders of the wildcat pack, Mrs. Strenger, and Mrs. Pasquesi 🤩 We are so thankful to have them both over at Walden Elementary School as they consistently display acts of kindness, generosity, and compassion for their staff and students. Thank you both for what you do!🫶

We've hit another 🍎✨ Everyone, please welcome Ms. Leah Samuels, our most recent Walden Elementary School kindergarten teacher! Ms. Samuels loves walking along the Chicago Lakefront Trail and says becoming a teacher was one of the best decisions she has ever made. She loves working with young children to support their success socially, emotionally, and academically. Welcome to the Wildcat Pack, Ms. Samuels!🐱📚

Is a thing? Because our 2nd graders threw it back to the 1800s and visited our little red schoolhouse! They got to explore the neighboring cabins and the vintage rooms inside along with sitting at the desks at the schoolhouse. The rain held off and it was a great way to kick off the week! 🍎✨
