Dr. Tite Tiรฉnou, the Tite Tiรฉnou Chair of Global Theology and World Christianity, Research Professor of Theology of Mission, and Dean Emeritus of Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (TEDS), received the honorific title of Chevalier de l'Ordre de l'ร‰talon from the government of Burkina Faso in April 2025.

Dr. Tiรฉnou received this distinguished honor alongside four members of the Christian and Missionary Alliance of Burkina Faso.

โ€œDr. Tienou is widely recognized as one of evangelicalism's leading theologians and missiologists whose influence spans the globe,โ€ says Dr. Craig Ott, Professor of Mission and Intercultural Studies at TEDS. โ€œIt is most fitting that his country of origin has honored him with this significant award.โ€

The title, which translates to โ€œKnight of the Order of the Stallion,โ€ is the highest honorary distinction in Burkina Faso. The award recognizes personal merit and eminent civil or military service to the nation, according to the website for the Grand Chancellery of the Burkinabe Orders.

Dr. David Pao, Dean and Professor of New Testament at TEDS, said, โ€œDr. Tite Tiรฉnou is a distinguished global theologian whose influence extends well beyond the academy. This honor further affirms his vital contributions in the public square. TEDS is proud to count Dr. Tiรฉnou among our own.โ€

Tomorrow we will celebrate our final Convocation at our Bannockburn campus, before our move to Trinity Western University. Whether you attend in person or via livestream, your presence will mean a great deal to us.

https://www.tiu.edu/divinity/convocation

At Trinity, Convocation is our annual chapel service to begin the academic year together. It is a special time of celebration for our community where we gather in worship, remember God's faithfulness, and ask God's blessing on our shared mission for the coming academic year. We invite you to join your Trinity community in praise, worship, thanksgiving, and prayer as we acknowledge our dependence on Christ and seek his blessings and mercy for the new academic year.

"Christians should be wary: the privileging of an individualโ€™s perspective is itself a feature of postmodernity." Read the full article by TEDS Professor of New Testament, Stephen M. Bryan.

The Gospel Doesn't Impart a Lens, but a Life The language we use is embedded in broader accounts of reality. Therefore we must stick closely to scriptural language as we describe the Christian life.

In May, students and professors from our PhD in Intercultural Studies program gathered at Dr. David M. Gustafson's home for a Spring picnic.

At TEDS, PhD students get to know their professors personally as they are trained for the work that God is calling them to do.

Life with young kids can be chaotic. So many things are competing for our attention, and we might not even be aware of where our priorities lie.

Esau McCaulley joins Lindsey and Ahyuwani to talk about the process of getting ready for church with a family, how church forms us, and why prioritizing spiritual formation for children is important. Plus Esau shares some of his family's fun ideas for Sunday mornings, Lindsey tries to keep the podcast from becoming all about soccer, and Kids describe what it's like to get ready for church.

๐ŸŽงNEW EPISODE๐ŸŽง

Welcoming children just as they are is a counter-cultural practice that invites us to examine our values and what we believe about the kingdom of God.

In todayโ€™s episode, weโ€™re joined by Kaitlyn Schiess, a theology student, podcaster, and author. Kaitlyn is also an enthusiastic advocate of children as vital to the life of the congregation. Kaitlyn talks with Lindsey and Ahyuwani about what this question shows us about what we might believe about the church, who we might be excluding, and what opportunities we might be missing as a result. Children share how they know someone likes having them around.

Last Friday, we celebrated our students who, by God's Grace, persevered and made it through their programs! We are proud of them and pray the Lord's blessing over their lives and ministries. We know that they will go on to make a difference for the kingdom all over the world!
