Sending:
Happy Holidays, Great Health and LOVE to ALL!!
We send our children to learn not just basics âhopefully in a safe environmentâ, but to teach them work ethics, honor, and humility and community service. This was the American way of the public school system up until the late eighties. The nineties began the breakdown of our âAmerican Public Educational System and Dreamâ.
Our educational system in Florida is not the traditional norm anymore. Education cannot just be found in a âbrick & mortar buildingâ in a traditional landscape setting. The various types of extra training for the development of skills our children need to survive in todayâs world are not currently taught or promoted in Floridaâs classrooms.
In Florida, we confuse the K-12 public educational time of learning with giving a âHigh Stakesâ test. This type of testing has been going on since 1998 through 2014. It has been very costly not just in dollars but to the success of our children. This test is not just for assessing abstract and concrete thinking but has been and still promoting âtest passingâ as skills. (These children are now young adults without skills to survive in todayâs economy. Many have no diploma or a valueless GED with no job skills. They are still living at home). Critical thinking and developing trust that promote character for leadership and entrepreneurship for the current new breed of American and the current new American dream, is not a given classroom standard taught in the current Florida K-12 Educational system.
To tell the truth no politician will be able to fix it and make it be the way it used to be, because were living in a new world without economic borders. We can push buttons and move billions from one continent to another. Jobs go where labor is cheap and the U.S. standards of living are still not cheap. We as Americans must now become smarter, learn new skills, and not take our youth or our seniors for granted. Our seniors are the American Dream of the past. Our children and young adults are our current future. They are Americaâs âgross national productâ. We must arm them with a âreal educationâ and promote training of âreal skillsâ that are tangibly to build a future American Dream and get them out of âour seniorsâ homes.
These Americans are our future and our history. We need to cherish them as a farmer watches over his gardens, livestock and of course his land. We have forgotten that tests are to assess a studentâs ability to learn and to help teachers use the right techniques needed to promote a better understanding of the materia assessed and to build critical thinking skills not done with an all or nothing âTestâ. We are not sending our children to school each day for (7) hours just to learn how to pass a test. Not (all human beings are designed to just take tests). Many students need to work and create with their hands. We have many teachers not allowed to provide these types of skills needed by (now the majority) students that are in our schools currently.
The Florida public educational system is now introducing another test to replace the (15) years of FCAT testing. This new test is still going to be very costly and again our young children will be the guinea pigs. We do not have another 15 years to prove the Educational system in Florida needs more than a state test to provide our children and young adults the much-needed skills to move Florida forward. We need to provide a standard of teaching that will create a future for our children and teach them skills needed to rebuild our infrastructures. The current politicians need to use common sense solutions desperately needed for our educational system to work again.
Education has always been âmoney brokeâ but not âsystem brokenâ. The world came to America to receive the best in education. We no longer hold title to this statement. We are far from number one in providing the best Education. However, let us not lose focus on providing common sense fixable solutions. We must begin now and not take another trial period of testing. We must now begin to interact by providing the basic needs that all human beings want. That is a âRealâ give and take environment to establish inner peace individually and as a group. Trust, is not found in our educational system today. That keeps our current schools from being a safe place to send our children to learn and grow into good citizens. Our âEducational Systemâ, currently measured on profit only balance sheets used by big business and sold to us by our elected politicians. The use of education as a buzzword for politics must end now. Once into office they forget to serve the people who voted for them to do the right things that they promised. Instead, they uphold the behind the scenes deals and party agendas that have nothing to do for the people and the greater good for all.
I wake up thinking about our children and seniors and how to give the support they need to move up. We need to do the heavy lifting ourselves but I know if we team together, we will get jobs back into America by rebuilding our foundation in the public educational system. I will make you this deal to work hard for you and to push forward common sense solutions. To make our public educational system the premiere model now used all over the world again. I have many solutions that are not costly but cost effective.
I ran for commissioner of Education in 2000. I ran against Charlie Crist. He is still running for public office. (Crist is running for Governor again). To put Crist or Scott back into office again for another (4) years will give Floridians NO forward movement toward a better quality of life. I have not seen any change with our educational system in 15 years. Our system is more broken then ever. Putting these guys back into public office will hurt yet another generation of Floridians. Many do not vote due to the problems with our educational system that these guys have governed over for the past decade and on going into another decade. When will the good people of Florida stop this madness, go out vote, and tell the state what really concerns you as citizens. Our children still cannot read. Our children and seniors live in the second most populated state in America where our resources stretched to capacity and yet we have become so complacent we are not exercising our right to vote. Your vote is important. If you vote, you will get the changes you want and need for our children to become great citizens that our seniors need today. However, we need to come together as a unit of âinformedâ voters to make this happen. I am connecting the dots and posting information that you as a citizen need to know about real issues not buzz words. Maybe then, you will venture out and cast your vote to make things really change for the better. Our children, seniors, and our stateâs resources need this to happen now in 2014.
The Solution
It starts with one. One is always the catalyst. One Vote will bring One more. Please you can do this. It is important to exercise your right to vote. If you donât Vote you wonât matter. Reconsider what youâve considered insignificant. In Kenya they have a saying
If you think you are too small to make a difference, you have never spent the night with a mosquito.
The one factor is all around you, waiting to be recognized and applied to your life. And once you become one, hang on because your life will never be the same. This principle of the one factor has throughout history repeatedly proven that be it good or be it evil it all started with one human being. Just to name examples of a one factor human being; Einstein, Jobs, Lennon, Kennedy, Hi**er, Hussein, Scott, Crist, Teddy Roosevelt. I will also include myself. You still may vote for me. I am a N.P.A. and was a write- in on the ballot for the Governorâs election, Vassilia Gazetas.
We have two one factor types running for the Governorâs office myself included, however I recently have been disqualified due to not appointing a Lt. Governor. I thought with the problems still facing our current Lt. Governor, I elected not to appoint one until the election was over. I will address further on another post.
Our current Governor Scott and past Governor Crist are one factor who has one agenda. That is whatâs wrong with this election. They are not for the duty of what the office is intended and entails. These guys are in it for self only and paying back lots of favors to other one factor (big money lobbyistsâ).
We the people feel this is an elected duty and this duty is for the good of all the some (20) million one factor citizens that live and struggle each day in Florida. We must all stop for just one moment and think what our future will be like once either of these guys gets into office. It will change our lives. The majority of us will feel the pain with âno gainâ if we do not go out and vote. If you want a better today for your future tomorrow, then show up and vote. Do not tell yourself your vote doesnât matter and give up this American right. Our history of Americans fought a very violent civil war so many today may exercise this right of voting (won with the blood of our soldiers) every (4) years.
REEL is not REAL
Get ready to witness a deluge of for media hype that will be purely for the way the political machine works. Always, always since the days of the Kennedy/Nixon TV broadcast years, this kind of âShow Business began to bring the political process into our living rooms live and off the written mailers, postcards, newspapers and sounds of radio. Letâs add 21st century social media and more money into the political arena and now you have a reel candidate, running for office and in most situations winning by who pays and buys more reel time, to produce Americans âgreat white hopeâ so to speak. This has nothing to do with the color. The color for âreel timeâ is green, and not Biotech green.
Once every (2) years, (4) years and (6) years we have many political movie shorts that are made for campaigns. These 30 second and 60 second back to back made for television commercials want you the voters to feel that what is introduced through the media is true, and will bring a âreal candidateâ hopeful into leadership who will help change things as they are and give voters the insight to indeed change matters for the better. To fulfill basic needs that must be addressed by new leadership. So now voters are good citizens that will do their duty and go out vote for the best candidate accordingly to the oneâs best television hype. Change the course of daily struggles if voters listen to the reel leaders they are watching and make their sound decision to put the best âreelâ political campaign candidate into office.
This year is no different than the past 16 years now about to be 20 years when November 2nd, rolls around. Once we believe the hype produced by the media we again will have a REEL LEADER to lead us. We will not have a real true leader to champion for us against the odds of the political machine of green power here and around the world today.
We must do our homework and truly voice our guts. We can not allow this green power of the media to keep the real leaders from coming forward, and voters to not have all the information needed to make a sound decision for their vote to empower a true real leader to guide all for the greater good.
In the 40âs we did come together as a nation, it was war time, after the bombing of Pearl Harbor. America stopped making automobiles and began making planes, ships, guns for the war. So much that it tipped the scales for âAllied Forcesâ to win the war. But then when we got back to big business again what did we do? We didnât eradicate poverty or stabilize the climate, or restore natural support systems. We did the opposite created billionaires and kept the poor as Roman slaves to live on $7.00 an hour. The media helped in bringing the nation together for a cause of greater good once. Now, the media is powered by the green machine and the cause is for the REEL candidate to win. This media REEL candidate may not be in the best interest for the greater good of America; however this will be a REEL win.
Florida Voters, there are some (15) candidates running for the office of Governor, and yet the media and newspapers only report about two, (Scott and Crist who have held this position and have not given back to the people what they promised.) They are back again with âgreen powerâ to hype their half truths and ask the same struggling citizens to vote again for their party agendas. The media doesnât report about the others that also want a chance to do their duty as citizens and serve the people of Florida. They are not part of the green machine media and that is why the hard working citizens of Florida do not know that there are more choices then just these two REEL candidates. Please do your duty as citizens and write and call the various Medias and tell them your concerns with the two that are in the news each day. Why are the others candidates not mentioned? What changes are being offered to the struggling citizens of Florida by these two that they offered before and didnât follow through, to name a few; education reform, health care and senior care? There are so many bank foreclosures where we see good families living in cars and hotels and in the streets. These issues took place under the Scott and Crist leadership. They did not help these matters for the good people of Florida, why do they feel they can now do the job they failed to do in 2006 to the present. Let us not forget the Bush years of 1998 to 2006, where the education system in Florida broke down and has never recovered. Mr. Crist was part of that leadership and Mr. Scott came in 2010 to take over the reins and has made such a mess of the office by not accepting Federal funds that were needed by the state and cuts to the education budget and cuts food stamps for children, seniors and the poor when the cost of food has gone up. (Milk alone went from $2.50 in 2010 to $4.15 per gallon) The cost of doing business for the (Ma and Pa) enterprises has gone up so much where they canât keep up competitively with the fortune 500 companies that get discounts and fees waived on health insurance and taxes.
There is REAL leadership out here to help make the changes needed to our state system; however we may never get that leadership in office if we vote the way the green power machine of the media presents (2) choices has being the only choices. That discourages voters and keeps the majority from casting their votes. Then only the minority vote and party favorites again get the REEL win and the people get poorer and struggle more to keep a roof over their head and off the street and food for their family to eat.
Remember the campaign is the game and the office is the place where the people will get the changes needed to move them forward. Come out on October 15th, and watch Scott and Crist debate issues at Broward College in Fort Lauderdale. Then witness how these two will be able to lead us again? Not good Florida. I will be there and hopefully the other (15) candidates will be present so you can meet and greet all of them. Then Florida you will have more choices for a REAL leadership.

I recently read that Broward college will be hosting on October 15th a debate forum between the two governors candidates Crist and Scott. They do not account for all the voices of the other (15) candidates still running for this office. I called Broward College to ask them if they would consider including the other candidates to this forum. I am awaiting their answer. In the mean time I am sending my opinion to the Sun Sentinel and to the Miami Herald. I will keep you posted as to what will happen next..
This is what I am sending to the papers only 250 words allowed as my opinion;
I ran for commissioner of Education in 2000 against Charlie Crist and George Sheldon (currently running for State Attorney). Both these guys have held office in one capacity or another since 2000. To put Crist or Scott back into office for another (4) years will give Floridians âNo Forward Movementâ toward a better quality of life but instead another costly four years of professional politics with these same âgood old boysâ.
I havenât seen any change for the good within our educational system in15 years, (this includes the Jeb Bush years). Our children still cannot read. Floridaâs âEducational Systemâ, is currently measured on profit only balance sheets used by big business and sold to us by our elected politicians be it Bush, Crist, or Scott.
When will the good people of Florida stop this madness, and remind their state officials what concerns and needs they all have in common as citizens. We need to come together as a unit of âinformedâ voters to make this happen. There are currently (15) other candidates still running for the Governorâs office. Broward College October 15th is hosting a Governorâs debate that will not include all these candidates but just two Crist and Scott.
My concern for Broward College is not extending the same invitation to the rest of the candidates. The student body needs to be exposed as well as the public to all the candidates. The current issues like Health Insurance, Utilities, the Environment and Jobs face all (20) million Floridians.

I recently answered questions that were asked of me by
The League of Women Voter's. The following are the answers the I emailed to the League. I want you to read these answers and you the voter tell me what the question is as in the game "Jeopardy ", except this is not a game on TV but Real Life issues that are Real concerns to all Floridians:

Answers to Governor Questionnaire
From: [email protected]
Attention: Brianna Calderon
1. I will accept all funds that the Federal Government allocates for our state. These funds are to help support and supplement resources that Florida needs for the people and for the state. We are (3) in population and (4) in land mass and our school districts are 2nd, 4th, and 6th in the nation. We need resources and now. Our children and seniors are at risk.
2. Yes. If we can make deals with oil companies currently that have destroyed much of our coastland which put our water resources at risk and shut down coastal business, I am all for new energy innovations.
Reduce high stakes testing and all costs allocated for these types of tests. (We need to use tests as assessments and not just the only tool to measure studentsâ abilities). Begin year round school which would keep costs down this would enable funding various programs needed for students to have and make choices to excel in moving successfully forward either in trades, arts or academics. Introduce more public trade schools.
3. There are 67 counties in Florida and many are in rural areas which the good citizens may need to have access to a firearm for protection. Each county has different needs for the use of fi****ms and what controls are needed to be enforced for their citizens.
4. Each community has different problems. Some such as Miami with a very large pop. and world port where there is a need for Judges to understand all the culture differences of their population. Wherefore Judges in rural areas focus on land mass and natural resources. Elections or appointments must fit according to how the county dictates need for their citizens.
5. Yes, to first time offenders. Many first time offenders will never repeat the mistake that made them a felon. No, to all repeat offenders. Most never vote or take the process seriously.
Recently I watched and read how the primary for the Governorâs race is coming along, (between Sen. Nan Rich and the ex Governor Charlie Crist). Both are running as Democrats. Note: this is Cristâs first time running for a political office as a Democrat. (He has always run as a Republican. His last held office was as a Republican Governor) The news machine and other media are reporting and favoring Crist to win but giving no true attention to reporting the values of our current and long standing Democrat, Sen. Nan Rich.
Already current Democratic endorsers for Sen. Rich have jumped ship and gone over to once Rep. (now a Dem.) Crist. I have a real problem with what I see is happening. I also understand that Sen. Rich is running on fumes (no money). Most of us in the state of Florida are running on fumes. (Crist and Scott are both dipping into millions, mostly coming out of party funds. Since both have Republican backing, that gives Crist a âDouble Dippingâ edge. Most Floridians make it from pay check to pay check with no way to double dip unless itâs with a second job and a pay advance. Heaven forbid if we get sick or worse. This is why I must step up to the plate and help the situation that is developing between Rich and Crist. The news is not reporting exactly what is going on within the âBIG, Florida Pictureâ of this very important race.
As all of you know I am also running for Governor as NPA as âwrite inâ on the ballot. That just means I waive paying the $5,210 to put my name on the ballot. You as voters must write in my name. I feel that the $5210 can be used in other important areas of my campaign, such as gasoline and postage. I had my name on the ballot in 2000. That year I ran against Charlie Crist for Commissioner of Education. I ran NPA and Crist was still running Republican. (George Sheldon also ran that year and now is running (D.) for Attorney General against Bondi who is a (R.)). I am bringing all this up and will bring up more factual data on Charlie Crist and his campaign tactics. I want to help you the voters and good citizens of Florida connect the dots on these two candidates and then you will be able to make an informed opinion and cast a vote for the best qualified. Money should not be a factor at this stage of the race. We have social media and the internet to network and help provide the information needed to cast your important vote that may change your life and the rest of the 20 plus million citizens that live in this state.
I need to step forward now and help Sen. Nan Rich fight Crist and his political campaign machine. I will also help the two candidates running against Rick Scott as well. I feel that these three candidates will not and are not getting the support that is needed to give the people of Florida factual information about them and not just spin Crist and Scott as if they are the only qualified candidates to choose. According to the state elections all the candidates have and are qualified to be governor including myself, âVASSILIA GAZETASâ. The news media works on ($$$$) money to report the facts. The half truths are being presented by the news media to the busy citizens of Florida instead of what the whole truth really is and that needs to be reported properly and to be unbiased.
The difference between all the candidates and I is: I did run against Crist and I did debate him on his turf. I am the only candidate that can make Crist meet with me for another debate. I want to do that NOW, and bring all the other candidates running for governor on board. We need to openly challenge Crist and Scott not just as candidates but as concerned citizens and voters. One of the main reasons I am running for this office is to do just that. If we do not challenge these two
âGoliath sâ we will have another four years of TOIL. (Working three jobs and getting no peace of mind because we still can not make ends meet. Heaven forbid if an emergency comes along.)
These two so called âGovernorâsâ will not want to have all of the candidates come together to pose and answer questions that face all the citizens of this great state of Florida. I will keep you posted on how I will create the âBuzzâ needed to bring the news media on board and get to the real problems facing the citizens of Florida. These questions must be posed to all the candidates so the good people of Florida can make an honest and informed decision on who will be the best qualified for this very important position. Currently there are (15) candidates running for governor. (This position can not be treated as a career move or just another line on a resume for a job but rather as a citizenâs duty, to do the right thing for âthe good of allâ.)
I promise the good people of Florida, that I will treat my whole campaign in just this manner, for âthe good of allâ. I want to give all Floridians Real Hope, for a Real Choice, for a Real Future. I want to help all Floridians âMove Florida Forwardâ. I want to take a step further and begin my âRHINOâ Campaign. That is for all to become a âFast Forward Thinking Floridian â. (A rhino only moves forward. Going backwards is out of the question once a rhino begins to move forward.)
Education, Healthcare, Housing and GOOD paying Employment with affordable Insurance for all Floridians are important issues that must be settled first to get the forward motion started âfor the good of allâ. These issues are life and death for many of the 20 plus million citizens of our state. I have started rough draft models for solutions to these issues and more. Water, Air, Fire, and Land are energy resources which concern all citizens. These concerns give the reasons why Florida is now the second most populated state in America. Just in the past ten (10) years the population has doubled. This has compromised our natural resources.
The Governor is the peopleâs voice and advocate to make sure that the rest of the elected and appointed officials are doing their job. Serving the people who put them in those positions is who the Governor is elected to represent and report too in a timely manner. Backroom deals that will only personally benefit political agendas is not and will not be my basis for serving my State. I promise to work very zealously for all the good citizens who live in this glorious sunshine state.
I am and have been a humble servant, as a teacher, life coach to young adults and seniors and as an advocate to people in need in general. I will help Floridians to connect the dots which will hopefully make daily life not such a struggle. (The good people of Florida need to enjoy their state as do the millions upon millions that come as tourists each year from all over the world.)
