THIS IS A MESSAGE FROM DEER PARK ISD:

School resumes tomorrow, Sept. 2, for all students and employees.

With the storm having little impact on our area, we look forward to seeing our students return to their school routines!

The good news is that, because of bad weather days built into our district calendar, students will not have to make up yesterday’s missed instructional day.

Also, don’t forget that Border Battle Spirit Week continues tomorrow with “Send the Bulldogs Back to the Millennium” day (Dress like it’s Y2K)!

THIS IS A MESSAGE FROM DEER PARK ISD:

School and all related activities are canceled for today, Sept. 1, for all Deer Park ISD campuses.

DPISD employees should not report for duty with the exception of a small group of maintenance employees, who will be contacted directly by their supervisor.

The District participated in a conference call with county emergency officials regarding what is now called Tropical Storm Edouard.

Emergency officials stated that the storm worsened overnight, potentially affecting our area with significant rain and flooding.

Please stay safe during this weather event, and we encourage you to monitor weather conditions throughout the day.

THIS IS A MESSAGE FROM DEER PARK ISD:

DPISD is monitoring the weather forecast involving the tropical weather system in the northern Gulf of America. The system has been designated as Tropical Depression 5.

According to the National Weather Service, the system will likely bring locally heavy rainfall, including the following conditions:
Generally up to 3-6 inches of rain in areas east of I-45, with isolated areas of 6-9 inches of rain possible;
In areas where heavier rainfall totals occur, flash flooding could be possible;
A Flood Watch is in effect for areas east of I-45 from 1 a.m. tonight through 7 a.m. Wednesday.

DPISD participated in a conference call this afternoon with county emergency officials. Based on the information provided, Deer Park will hold school tomorrow, Sept. 1, according to our regular schedule.

Of course, parents are best-equipped to make decisions regarding their child’s safety. Parents who choose to keep their child home tomorrow have the right to do so.
