Kings Island Quads - October 15 (Win a Free Entry to Kings Island Open)
A quad is a four-player round robin - you will play one game with each other person in your quad. Quads are organized by rating - the entrants are sorted by USCF Quick rating, and each group of four is a quad. The time control will be G/24;d5 - this year, the quads will be quick-rated only. Online Entry fee is $35 per person. USCF membership is required, but notation is not required. Online registration will close October 14 at 7 PM. There will be no on-site entries for this tournament. Register online before October 14nd 7 PM to get a guaranteed spot for this tournament. Round 1 starts at 7 P.M. Rounds 2 & 3 will start 5 minutes after the last game is finished in your quad.
The winner of each quad receives a free entry to the Kings Island Open - a $140 value! Ties in a quad will be decided by our tie-break method. All games played at Cincinnati Chess Club, 7640 Plainfield Rd, Deer Park, OH. Please refer to the chess club calendar for additional info.

National Chess Day Celebration at Cincinnati Chess Club
October 8 Thursday @ 6:30 pm – 11:00 pm
Annual celebration of National Chess Day with casual games, chess puzzles, and activities for all ages. Free pizza, cookies, fun casual chess and puzzle contests with prizes. Bring friends and family to introduce them to chess, play with experts or enjoy bughouse chess. Fun, festive community event.

Tomorrow (10/01- Thursday) we have a very special lecture by our very own John Randolph. "How I Became a Master"?. John is not only one of the strongest chess players in Ohio and a wealth of chess knowledge but also an incredibly kind person who is a long time patron of the chess club.
