Good hitters don’t have to choose between being on time for the fastball and being adjustable to spin.
When we can create tight turns while maintaining good direction through the baseball, we give ourselves the ability to stay steady out front without getting long or spinning around the ball.
That allows us to be ready for velocity while still having enough adjustability to handle a breaking ball inside.
Compact turns. Clean direction. Better adjustability.

Pull-side power doesn’t have to come from spinning harder or flying open.
The ability to scissor kick or shift the hips while staying closed allows the barrel to maintain a much cleaner direction through the baseball.
When the direction stays true, we give ourselves a better chance to create backspin, keep the baseball fair, and still produce damage to the pull side.
The goal isn’t just to pull the ball.

A lot of hitters think they need to create more space by getting wider through the swing.
In reality, we want to allow the rear shoulder to clear so the barrel has a clean lane to be delivered with good direction.
When the swing gets too wide, we tend to cast, work around the baseball, and lose the ability to stay through it.
Think about shrinking the phone booth as a hitter.
Create the space you need without creating unnecessary width.

One of the biggest things hitters have to learn is the difference between a training mindset and a competitive mindset.
During training, we want intention. We want players thinking about what they’re doing, how they’re moving, and what adjustments they’re trying to make.
But eventually, the work has to be trusted.
When it’s time to compete, we don’t want a hitter thinking about five different mechanical cues. We want them seeing the baseball, making confident decisions, and competing.
The goal of training isn’t to think more during the game.
It’s to prepare so well that you can finally stop thinking and trust yourself.

Walk Through Split Grip.

Create space. Keep direction. Let the hands and barrel work through the zone without forcing or manipulating the swing.

The split grip helps hitters feel separation between the hands, stay connected through rotation, and create a cleaner path into extension.

Train the movement. Feel the difference. Then let it play.

The best way to handle velocity in? Be ready early enough that you don’t have to rush.

Look away. Slow the game down. Trust yourself to react in.

When we’re prepared early, the inside pitch doesn’t feel like something we have to cheat to. We can stay on time, stay adjustable, and still get our best swing off.

Too many hitters are just trying to make contact.

That’s not the goal.

When you get your pitch, the mindset has to change from “put the bat on it” to “do damage.”

Recognize your window. Be on time. Get your A-swing off with conviction.

Good hitters make contact.
Great hitters make pitchers pay.

The best swings aren’t forced.

Too many hitters try to make the barrel work — pushing it, steering it, manipulating the path.

Create the right direction. Create space. Sequence the body correctly.

Then allow the bat to swing itself.

When the body works efficiently, the barrel doesn’t need to be forced into position. It gets delivered there naturally.

Stop controlling the bat. Start creating a movement that allows it to work.

Great hitters don’t wait until the pitch is halfway to the plate to decide if they like it.

They hunt a window.

When the ball shows up in that window, they trigger with conviction and produce their A+ swing.

If it doesn’t, they confidently take it.

Bad hitters usually live in between — swinging at everything, or waiting so long to make sure the pitch is good that they’re already late.

Pick your window. Trust what you see. When it shows up, go 100%.
