Our Advanced Culinary students hosted their first catering events of the year this week, serving the Shell Deer Park TA Team during their team-building event and Deer Park ISD staff at their annual complimentary luncheon!

The delicious menu featured prosciutto and spinach-filled chicken with garlic potatoes and roasted asparagus, followed by white chocolate blueberry bread pudding with vanilla bean crème anglaise.

From preparing professional-quality dishes to providing exceptional service, our students are gaining valuable, real-world experience that prepares them for success in the culinary industry!

Congratulations to Unmanned Aerial Vehicles/Drone teacher Charles “Reid” Whiteside and Deer Park High School-South Campus!

South Campus has officially been recognized as an Advanced Iconic Certified Campus! This distinction is awarded to campuses that achieve an impressive 80 percent or higher pass rate on the FAA Part 107 exam.

The award is presented by Iconic Drone Education, a company that provides drone training programs for students. It reflects Mr. Whiteside’s leadership, dedication, and passion for preparing students with real-world skills and opportunities.

Congratulations to three recent DPISD CTE graduates!

Anthony Cuevas, Yair Guevara, and Davin Lohman recently completed a summer Turbine Mechanic Training Program through a partnership between DPISD and GE Vernova—and have now joined the workforce!

This partnership is also expanding this school year with a first-of-its-kind program that will give DPISD CTE seniors the opportunity to train both in the classroom and at the GE Vernova Training Center. By graduation, students will have the hands-on skills and industry experience needed to launch careers as turbine mechanics.

We are proud to highlight some of our Deer Park ISD alumni who completed the Education & Training pathway and are now serving in classrooms of their own as certified teachers and paraprofessionals. 🍎✏️

It’s exciting to see our former students pursue a career in education, put the skills they developed through CTE into practice, and grow into successful professionals in the field. We’re especially proud to welcome many of them back to Deer Park ISD, where they now have the opportunity to make an impact on the next generation of students.

Seeing them enter such an important and rewarding career—and thrive in their chosen field—is exactly what CTE is all about!

Jacob Aranda, one of our first Practicum in Interior Design students, recently completed a summer internship in Houston. Special thanks to Sunnyroad Interiors and Fabric House for giving our student a chance to learn more about the industry. Best of luck to Jacob as he continues his education at Texas State, majoring in Interior Design.
