The Old Red Hen's Art Roost will have -

Children's classes will be about teaching children to look at things differently as we teach them to recycle things into new art. Our Adult classes will focus on a variety of different art mediums as we bring in artist from all over the country to teach weekend retreats. Our hope is to also open a small store so that art supplies will become available to people in this community without them having to travel over an hour away for them.

Today is set up day for ORH's Hwy. 127 yard sale fund raiser. We are setting up at Green Acres Real Estate Company in Clark Range, TN...40% of the proceeds will go to help fund free art lessons for area children so please make sure that you come and buy from us...We have a bit of everything including art work from 2 International Artists, some beautiful formal gowns, name brand clothing, baby items, GPS unit that can even be used during hikes, and way to much else to name...so come check us out...Just look for the ORH sign.

Were you unable to sell everything at your yard sale? Do you have a closet or room full of your crafts that you need to get rid of? Do you not have the time to sit at the Hwy.127 yard sale? Do you not want to spend all that money to rent a space to sell at the 127 yard sale?

The Old Red Hen's Art Roost is taking items on consignment to sell at our booth. How this works is we get a % of everything that we sell for you. You give us your hoped for price and your rock bottom price (as you know yard salers like to haggle) and then we do all the work (set up, take down, protect it during the night, & sit in the sun all day).We will be setting up to sell on Thursday and staying there until Sunday so call us today so we can arrange to get your stuff and get it ready to go out there. And remember that the money we make from the commissions will be going towards getting a free art program for children off the ground.

We have had a number of children's groups that are interested in attending a free workshop, but for that to happen we need your help. We need donations..we don't want your money (unless you really want to give t) what we need to your scraps, your do-dads, your I can do something with that, old furniture, heck even empty toilet paper rolls. Our goal is to teach children that not everything needs to be bought new...with a little time...a little ingenuity, and a lot of love...the things they would throw away can be brought back to life as something else. We can pick up if it fits in our van! Just call 931-250-4555 to make arrangements. So gather up those scraps of lumber...that bit of chicken wire...that 1/2 empty bottle of glue that you have had laying around forever and give us a call.

The funds raised from the sale of this tee shirt will help to open an art school (roost) in a small Appalachian town in Tennessee. This school will teach varying forms of art to both locals and nationally to help bring funds into the community.

I started a tee shirt fund raiser to try and gather capital to pull this off. The school is located in a very poor county and this would be one of the only things for the children of the community to do. So far no one has bought any of the t-shirts. If the reason is because of the price then please let me know and I will just lower the price...if it is because you don't like the t-shirt please send me suggestions for a different design.
