Watching our students play and explore in our mud kitchen is a humbling reminder that not everything in early childhood needs to be tied up in a pretty bow.
What if we gave children the freedom to express themselves through play…without worrying that it might get too messy, too loud, or too much?
What if the mud on their hands, the water splashed across the table, the loud laughter, the carefully mixed “recipes,” and the completely unexpected creations are not things to manage away...but things that are a crucial part of their learning?
There is something so powerful about giving children space to wonder, experiment, & create without limits. Sometimes childhood doesn’t need a perfect product or a tidy ending. Sometimes the mess is what makes the learning possible 🍂🌿🤎
