Homecoming fun!

So sad to announce that the school year is officially over :( I was shedding tears (as I knew I would be) because it's hard to say goodbye to such a special group of kids. We had such a great year together and created lasting memories together! I hope to see these kiddos around throughout the summer. Hope everyone has a stupendous summer break!

Yet another fun day as we wind down the school year! On Friday, we had lunch on the lawn and then spent the afternoon playing a variety of games out on the field; we had perfect weather too!

After our trip to Vesterheim to see the 4th grade Immersion projects, we walked to the Whippy Dip! We couldn't have asked for a more perfect day to do it!

Last week we had a bike rodeo at school! Students brought their bikes and helmets and learned about bike safety. They drove through an obstacle course, practiced using their hand signals, practiced passing a pedestrian safely, and even got to use their pedaling power to make a smoothie! Although we wish it would have been warmer outside, it was a fun and educational experience for all!

Our last week of Science found us studying bess beetles! The students enjoyed letting the beetles crawl on their hands, as well as their tables. Their favorite part though was seeing how strong the beetles are! We conducted a "beetle pull" in which we investigated how many paper clips a beetle could pull; the strongest beetle was able to pull or drag 74 paper clips!!

The students had a blast yesterday at the vocabulary parade! They had such creative costumes and really got into it!

I so enjoyed the 3rd grade concert the other night. I may be biased, but I thought our class's "Waltzing with Bears" performance was the hi-lite of the show! I was so proud of them! They even brought tears to my eyes...I hate thinking about the school year almost coming to a close. I'm going to miss these kids soooo much!
