Preus Library

Preus Library is the campus library for Luther College, a liberal arts college in Decorah, Iowa.

Preus Library offers numerous resources and services to Luther students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the general public. We support the work and mission of the Luther College community by providing access to communication and information resources, expertise and training in the effective and efficient use of information, and a place to explore and express ideas, ourselves, and our community.

With finals week fast approaching, now is the perfect time to visit the library and get some studying in before the big day!

The library will have extended hours this weekend for finals so make sure to check those out on our website or drop by and ask about them at the Circulation Desk!

This week for our final , we find our Interlibrary Loan Librarian Emily Mineart in the Rare Book Room! When asked why this was her favorite spot she replied:

“The Rare Book Room contains so many unique hidden treasures, from first editions to Norwegian farm deeds from the 1400s to a gigantic elephant folio of Audubon’s Birds of America. As a book arts enthusiast, my favorites are the beautiful old and unusual bindings."

Classes occasionally meet in the Rare Book Room for scheduled library instruction sessions. Researchers can access the collection by appointment.
