The district — named a District of Innovation by the Mississippi Dept. of Education — is adding a Power Academy vocational program at its career and technical center this year.

Today, our administration, faculty, and staff had the privilege of hearing from Jake Thompson—international keynote speaker, author, and founder of Compete Every Day®. Jake challenged us to reject complacency, embrace a growth mindset, and commit to becoming better than we were yesterday through intentional daily choices.
His powerful message reminded us that success isn’t about comparing ourselves to others—it’s about consistently competing with yesterday’s version of ourselves. By focusing on character, resilience, and personal responsibility, each of us has the opportunity to make a lasting impact in our school and community.
