This week, we gathered for our second all-school Rosary. This is always a special time to center our hearts and minds in prayer and offer our intentions to Mary, who brings our prayers to her Son, Jesus. It is especially meaningful to see our middle school students lead the prayers and reflections using visual beads and prayer cue cards to help keep our entire school community engaged. What a beautiful reminder of the importance of prayer and growing together in faith! 💙💚

Monday’s lesson: saving lives! Our staff traded pencils for first aid kits as we sharpened skills that help keep our school community safe. First Aid, CPR, and AED training was provided by Emory Healthcare professionals. 💚🚑💙

Last week, our PK-3rd grade classes had very special visit from author and former Notre Dame leprechaun, Mike Brown! Mr. Brown read two of his books to our students, taught us the ND game day chant and dance, and presented each student with his book, Little Netta’s Gift! Thank you to Notre Dame Club of Atlanta for making the gift of books possible for our students!

Most of all, thanks to Mr. Brown for inspiring our students through his experiences and captivating presence and stories! 💙💚

We are halfway through Hispanic Heritage Month! We love celebrating our diverse heritages at SPC! Last week in Guidance class, our students focused on learning about Hispanic saints through engaging discussions and activities. Saints Rose of Lima, Juan Diego, Martin de Porres, Jose Sanchez del Rio, and of course, St. Peter Claver, pray for us! 💚💙

Celebrating Love: Student of the Month

As we close out September, please join us in celebrating our September Students of the Month! 🥳 Our September Fruit of the Holy Spirit was LOVE. Jesus reminds us in John 15:12, “Love each other as I have loved you.”

Our students showed this love by including others, offering encouragement, helping friends, showing compassion, and making others feel valued and cared for. We are so proud of the many ways our students are letting their light shine through LOVE. 💞

Please join us in congratulating Mrs. Lauren Hughes, SPC's Archbishop Honoree of the Year! Mrs. Hughes began her journey at St. Peter Claver in 2023, teaching middle school science and religion. Since then, she has taught middle school math, provided resource support across multiple grade levels, taught first and second grade religion, and has become our beloved Technologist. She has most recently extended her various talents to help bring our SPC Drama Club to life, creating new opportunities for our students to shine.

Mrs. Hughes embodies a true "can-do" spirit and is always willing to step in wherever she is needed. Her creativity, flexibility, and servant heart make her an invaluable member of our SPC family. We are so grateful to have her! Mrs. Hughes was selected as the recipient of this award by her peers at SPC. We couldn’t think of a more deserving honoree this year! 💙💚
