It’s all about gaining experience. Today, first semester nursing students completed simulations created by our fourth semester nursing students!

The fourth semester students created scenarios based on content covered in the first semester of the nursing program. They simulated patients experiencing hypertension, asthma, and low blood sugar. From there, the first semester students each got hands-on experience walking through a typical patient visit and deducing the problem.

DID YOU KNOW: Richland students receive free access to Decatur Public Transit (DPTS) fixed-route city buses and Operation Uplift for students who are eligible for ADA paratransit service.

This fall, DPTS transitioned to the new Decatur Transit Pay system – which requires Richland students to have a Transit Pay account or physical fare card set up with Richland student status in order to ride for free. Students can learn the steps to access free rides at richland.edu/transportation

(Note: Decatur Moves is a separate service and is not included in Richland’s free student transportation benefit.)

Free event coming up this Thursday! Learn how your personal biases affect your work and how you can implement anti-bias practices!

In this session, Cathy Welsh helps educators, future educators, and community workers look at how these systems show up in classrooms, workplaces, and daily life. You’ll see how who you are affects the way you see, teach, and support others. You’ll also learn practical ways to notice more and respond better.

The event will be in Classroom S105 at Richland starting at 5:30 PM on Thursday, September 24. No registration is required. Save the event to your calendar here: richland.edu/working-the-angles/
