In addition to this Friday night being our Football home opener, the Band of Braves will be performing at halftime! Their show theme is "Origins: The Aztec story of how music came into the world," and they will be the first Bellmont band to field a show on the gridiron in 16 years! The group has been hard at work getting ready!!!

She recently graduated with a degree in education and is excited to create a welcoming classroom where every student feels valued and supported. A Fort Wayne native and Northrop High School graduate, Elizabeth brings a passion for education and a love for adventure to Bellmont. We’re proud to shine a spotlight on the incredible work of one of our talented staff members and Bellmont alumna, Shelby Nower!

Shelby recently returned from Italy after completing an art residency with the Trinacria Theatre Company in the tiny Sicilian town of Pezzolo. During her three-week residency, Shelby was commissioned to create a hand-drawn animation and lead activities for local children.

Shelby has brought her talents to projects both here at Bellmont and throughout the City of Decatur, and we’re thrilled to see where those talents continue to take her!

Good morning North Adams families,

This morning there was a wreck at Piqua and 224 wherein two individuals left the scene of the accident on foot. While searching the area for the runners, and since drop off was already happening quickly, local police provided additional presence on and around campus for student arrival. Extra school staff were assigned outdoors to provide a safe corridor for students.

At this time everyone is in school and going about their day and there is no evidence of any threat to student safety. We have called a Secure Perimeter protocol, which means students will remain indoors (doing all interior activities as usual, but no outdoor recess, PE, etc.) and there will be increased vetting of any visitors to the buildings. We will continue in this protocol until police resolve their search.

Join us in welcoming Melissa Barton to Bellmont as our new BMS Intervention Teacher! With nearly 10 years of in elementary education, she’s excited to bring her experience to the middle school and work with a new age group. Outside of school, she enjoys cheering on her children as they compete in their athletic events! Welcome to Bellmont!

Please join us in the Bellmont High School theater on Monday, August 24th at 6:30 for an informational meeting about how to navigate your student's last year at Bellmont! Topics will include career exploration opportunities, college and financial aid, graduation and graduation requirements, and a question/answer session.

Join us in wishing a warm welcome to new Kindergarten teacher Rachel Brophy!!! She spent the past three years teaching at Muncie Community Schools before joining the Bellmont team. Outside of the classroom she loves reading, gardening, and golfing with her family. We are so excited for her to be working with our young Braves!!!
