Grade 3 spent five days at White Oak Pastures tending gardens, planting and harvesting, caring for animals, moving cattle, milking cows, riding horses, exploring compost, and foraging for tea ingredients. From barnyard chores to homemade meals shared together, the week offered a hands-on connection to the rhythms of farm life.
A cherished Waldorf milestone, the Grade 3 farm trip invites children into hands-on work and a deeper understanding of how we live in relationship with the earth and one another.

🌟Soar & Land 🌟
The long jump is a core event in the fifth-grade Waldorf Pentathlon. Emphasizing personal bests, grace, and sportsmanship, it serves as a major rite of passage tied to their Greek mythology curriculum.

Puerto Rico gave Grade 8 a week full of adventure, teamwork, and a little bit of “Wait… where does this screw go?” energy. 🇵🇷
Students spent the week getting their hands busy with a service project… measuring, building, problem-solving, and discovering that teamwork makes every project better.
The adventure also led to Cueva Ventana, where students traded tools for hard hats and explored one of Puerto Rico’s incredible natural wonders. Between caves, nature, learning, and laughter, it truly felt like one giant classroom without walls.
They worked hard, explored hard, and made memories that will probably include a few stories beginning with, “Remember when…”

🌟Pentathlon 🌟
The Greek Pentathlon is one of the most memorable experiences of the fifth grade year, and for some, their entire time at Waldorf.
Months before the event, the students begin to practice the five original Olympic sports: discus, javelin, wrestling, relay, and long jump.
This year the students gathered for three days with other students from 9 Waldorf schools from around the SE - and for the first time ever - Puerto Rico, for a group reenactment of the Olympic Games.
Beginning with the inspirational lighting of the Olympic torch, the event continues with field competitions by each of the four city-states: Corinth, Thebes, Athens, and Sparta. A closing ceremony acknowledges the special contributions of each student.

🌟 The Beauty of the Throw 🌟
✨ Our fifth graders recently stepped into the shoes of ancient athletes at the annual Waldorf Pentathlon!
✨ Unlike the Olympics, the javelin event at the Waldorf Pentathlon is not measured by distance. It is measured by harmony, focus, and inner balance.
