The mission of the University of Illinois Master Gardener Program is "helping others learn to grow".

Master Gardener volunteers are key in expanding the impact of Illinois Extension's Horticulture Program by providing community education. Comments, links, photos, and videos are welcome on all University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign social media platforms. Thank you to Mayor Stoner City of Monticello, Illinois Government for visiting the Monticello Area Community Garden. It's always a joy to share the garden's impact with others.

Celebrating 10 years as a partnership with Kirby Medical Center, the City of Monticello, and the Piatt/Macon/Dewitt Co. County Master Gardeners, the Monticello Community Garden offers plot rentals for gardeners who need a space to grow their own.

Get Growing Bement is a free horticulture program presented by the Piatt County Master Gardeners. Participants will learn how to grow cut flowers and make a mini bouquet to take home

Today's the day! Come to the celebration at the Monticello Area Community Garden from 4 to 6 p.m. and meet our amazing Master Gardener volunteers!

There will also be free hands-on activities for kids and adults available. Be sure to stop by the KMC Active Gym for the Health and Wellness fair, too.

Activities include:
•Create-your-own mini cut flower bouquets
•Plant herbs to take home and nurture
•Explore a kids pollinator scavenger hunt

Crossing Healthcare Garden is celebrating 10 years of being a valuable resource for the community. Stop by the celebration any time between 9 and 11 a.m. on July 25! This is a free, family-friendly event with gardening activities for all ages. Master Gardeners will also be available to answer your gardening questions.

Willy's Garden week kicked off today! Look at all of the young gardeners learning about pollinators. Stop by Decatur Public Library-Illinois to see the flowers planted in their garden.

Illinois Extension will host two Homegrown Harvest vegetable gardening workshops in June. Both workshops will be at 9 a.m. at Southside Hill Community Garden, and are free and open to all.
