We believe that diverse, young Christian leaders will affect the church’s future, vitality and social relevance. These leaders in ministry make a difference in the lives of individuals and communities. Every community needs capable, compassionate Christian leaders who serve the common good, strive for justice, build up the community, share the Gospel and ultimately do the church’s work in the world.

The Leading and Practicing Vocational Discernment course builds on the foundation of the Art & Science of Vocational Discernment and introduces the DISCERN Together Framework, giving you practical, context-specific approaches to guide emerging adults with greater clarity and confidence. It’s designed to help you move from theory to practice, equipping you to support meaningful, purpose-driven discernment in real time.

What if your questions about the future are part of discovering your calling?

The FTE Ministry Fellowship invites college sophomores and juniors to spend a year exploring vocation, deepening their discernment, and learning alongside a community of peers.

Through retreats, a six-week online course, mentorship, and a $4,000 project grant, fellows will have space to explore a call to ministry and put discernment into practice.

Applications for the Forum for Theological Educators close TODAY!

Beginning a Ph.D. brings many decisions: what to study, where your gifts may be needed, and what a future in theological education might look like. You do not have to discern it all alone.

The Forum for Theological Educators brings underrepresented and underserved early-stage doctoral students together with peers and mentors to explore vocation, consider pathways in theological education, and reflect on the leadership they are called to offer.

Over the last week, FTE welcomed two new Discernment Lab cohorts representing faith leaders from congregations, campus ministries, denominations, and partner organizations supporting young adults!

Together, we learned the DISCERN Together Framework and began building a vibrant community of practice that will continue over the next 18 months. It was wonderful meeting new colleagues and reconnecting with familiar faces. We’re excited for the journey ahead!
