Proficiency Basketball Training

The ball is getting ready to roll, and now I’m looking for the right people to help bring this vision to life 💪🏾

I’m currently looking for a qualified, license, and insured contractors who can provide estimates and help create a renovation plan for a future Proficiency Training facility. The work may include:

- Remodeling and general build out
- Making the bathrooms ADA accessible and code compliant
- Basketball and fitness flooring installation
- Electrical, lighting, heating, insulation, and possible A/C work
- Framing or remodeling different training rooms
- Helping determine what needs to be completed first and what can be done in phases

I am also currently reviewing potential locations here in Decatur. Let me make one thing clear: the goal is to open this facility here in Decatur no where else. I want to create something here that gives our kids a consistent place to develop their basketball skills, confidence, discipline, and leadership while also providing personal training, corrective exercise, and wellness services for adults.

If you are a contractor, flooring professional, electrician, plumber, HVAC professional, architect, designer or someone with commercial gym build-outs and would like the opportunity to bid on this project , please inbox me. There are still work to do, but every meeting, estimates, conversation, and connection moves us one step closer. 💪🏾

🏀 EARLY SIGN-UPS ARE NOW OPEN — THE SKILL LAB IS COMING BACK!

November 2nd, we’re officially bringing the Proficiency Skill Lab into our new facility at 2161 E. Pershing Rd. in Decatur , IL

The goal is to build a real basketball performance environment where athletes can come in consistently, learn the game, sharpen their fundamentals, build confidence, and actually understand why they’re doing what they’re doing.

If you have a young athlete who really wants to learn basketball and develop their game, I’m asking parents to take advantage of the early sign-up and get registered now. I want to see enough athletes committed to make this Skill Lab everything I know it can become.

My training comes from more than just watching drills online or playing basketball. I’m a Certified Basketball Skills Trainer, with education through Micah Lancaster’s I’m Possible Training system. The I’m Possible approach emphasizes detailed skill development, purposeful repetitions, game-applicable movement, and teaching players how skills translate to actual basketball situations. That methodology is part of what I bring into the Proficiency training environment.

And that’s what makes Skill Lab different. We’re working on ball handling, footwork and movement, shooting mechanics, finishing, decision-making, basketball IQ, confidence, discipline, and learning how to actually play the game—not just running athletes through random drills.

High School (14–18): Monday & Wednesday beginning November 2nd | 5:15–6:30 PM
Elementary/Middle School (8–13): Tuesday & Thursday beginning November 3rd | 5:15–6:30 PM (Times and dates may change due to how many athletes sign up)

I’m also looking for TWO individuals who need community-service/volunteer hours and would like to help with Skill Lab. This is an opportunity to be around youth development, basketball training, and the process of building a performance facility for our community.

Good morning I’m looking to take on just 3-4 more athletes through this player development special:

🏀 4 1-on-1 sessions-$175

🏀 8 1-on-1 sessions-$300

Once these spots are filled, I will temporarily stop accepting new clients so I can focus on preparing the new Proficiency Training Facility.

The court flooring has been secured, so we’re now focused on building the remaining funds needed to bring everything together. Sponsorships, community partnerships, and continued support are still welcomed and greatly appreciated. If you’re reading this please point me to the right people. Proficiency Training LLC is opening enrollment for its upcoming Skill Lab, a structured basketball development program designed to help young athletes improve their fundamentals, confidence, basketball IQ, footwork, shooting mechanics, and overall performance.

High School | Ages 14–18
Mondays & Wednesdays | 5:15–6:30 PM
Begins November 2nd

Elementary–Middle School | Ages 8–13
Tuesdays & Thursdays | 5:15–6:30 PM
Begins November 3rd

Families can purchase a training package online and receive a unique scheduling code, allowing them to schedule their available sessions around their needs.

🎟️ There’s also a Skill Lab raffle! Two athletes will receive a one-month membership, including 8 training sessions. Tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20.

🏋🏽‍♂️ CERTIFIED PERSONAL TRAINERS — I MAY HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY FOR YOU!

As Proficiency Training gets closer to opening its own facility, I’m considering opening the doors to a few certified personal trainers who are looking for a professional space to train their OWN clients and make their OWN money.

This would not be an employment position. You would operate independently, build your own clientele, set your own training schedule within available hours, and keep the money you earn from your clients.

💰 Monthly facility rent would range from $300–$500, depending on your access and training needs.
