During the final days of school, members of the DHS Class of 2026 took a nostalgic trip back to their elementary alma maters and K-2 schools across the district. Former teachers, parents, and current students—many of whom were siblings—gathered in the halls for their walks to honor cherished memories, connections, and emotional moments from their journeys while celebrating the exciting next chapters ahead.

Coming in June: Update Payment Information in Infinite Campus

Infinite Campus will switch the payment processor for all online payment functions in the Campus Portal from Payrix to Stripe. The new system will provide a more secure, easy-to-use payment system, including tap-and-pay options at school events. CSD will make this transition for the district during June.

Important Notes:
➡ The online payment system will be unavailable June 8-19, 2026. If you need to make a payment during this time, please visit your student's school to pay via cash or check.

➡ Banking and card information must be set up again in the new Stripe portal after June 19. Stored payment methods and recurring payments will not be transferred between vendors.

➡ There are no changes to our fee structures. Processing fees remain at 2.5% for credit cards and $0.35 for e-checks.

➡ Please log in to Infinite Campus and click "Fees" to check for any balances. Any balance on the accounts will carry over.

Next stop, high school! Beacon Hill Middle School honored the Class of 2030 yesterday at their 8th Grade Capstone Ceremony, with over 450 students represented. The BHMS Steelband delivered a spirited performance of "The Hammer," and BHMS Principal Alexis Glenn and 8th-grade assistant principal Ron Johnson commended students for their hard work and encouraged them to rest over the summer, and to "keep going" and strive for excellence. Former BHMS principal Derrick Thomas and their future DHS principal, Dr. Duane Sprull, also joined in the celebration. A special thanks to the hosts from the Principal's Advisory Committee, Madison Deeb, Chrispphe Owusu, Micheal Phillipsborn, Lydia Robilliard, and Stella Rucker.

Want tips on how to "work the room"? Just ask Talley Street's rising fifth-graders, who were among the top finalists to participate in the Talley Street 2026 Amazing Shake competition. Students wowed the adult judges with their show of soft skills, including handshakes, eye contact, conversations and poise, as they interviewed to serve as the next group of House Leaders. The judges included a range of local elected officials, CSD leaders and community members, including Decatur Mayor Tony Powers, members of the CSD Board of Education, Superintendent Dr. Gyimah Whitaker, executive cabinet members, and a variety of community partners. Students enjoyed the opportunity and left well-equipped to lead and present themselves exceptionally well for future opportunities.

Kudos to the 2026 Talley Street House Leaders: Lu Starrchan (Altruismo), Kate Schoeman (Amistad), Austin Sims (Isibindi), Hailey Richardson (Nukumori), Ian Ramon (Onraka), Evie Kelly (Rêveur), and Talley Street's Heads of House staff, Jillian Farley, Alicia Reno, Jessica Young, Lindsey Combs, Ashley Forman, and Lyndsei Pacini.
