Students in Mrs. Dorsey’s class are focusing on the number 1 this week.

Students participated in a multi-sensory learning experience today involving all things 1!

Students wrote the number 1 in blue sand. (Our color of the week is blue.)
Students counted 1 counter.
Students traced the number 1 with their marker.
Students showed their teachers the number 1 on their finger.

We are off to a great start this week & we can’t wait to learn more.

We had a GREAT first week.
Thursday students learned how to drive their bikes on the playground and today students in Mrs. Dorsey’s class mastered play-dough skills and had blast.

We are looking forward to week 2 with our friends.

It might be the second day of school but students in Mrs. Dorsey’s class are already hard at work.

Today they did a second read aloud of “Froggy goes to School” and identified that all books have a title and an author.

Students then worked on fine motor skills though coloring with various sizes and shapes of crayons.

We can't wait to see you all at our District Wide Open House on Thursday, August 8! Teachers and faculty will be available to meet with parents and students from 11 AM to 7 PM.

Dial 4 Assessments started today with some of our new students. We have loved getting to begin building connections with our families.

We are FULL for the 2024-2025 school year!
If you haven't already turned in your application for the 2024-2025 school year we are currently full. We are now taking applications for our wait list.

How does the wait list work?

Families that turn in a completed application will get a number on our wait list. If a family moves away and a spot becomes available we will work our way down the wait list in the order applications are turned in.

We are excited for the 2024-2025 school year and can't wait to get to know all of our sweet kiddos.

Decatur Pre-K currently has 6 available openings for the 2024-2025 school year.

All students must be 3 years of age by August 1, 2024.

Open spots are for students who meet income eligibility requirements.

Spots are filled on a first come first serve bases for families who complete all paperwork first.

We are so excited for all of our new friends to come visit us! Mark your calendars and keep an eye on your mailbox! Each kid will be receiving a post card invitation next week.
