This year 2nd grade has participated in a program called Spoons Across America. This program teaches students about nutrition, how to read a label and recipe, as well as experimenting with different flavor pallets. The last 2 weeks Mrs. Ayres worked hard to prepare lessons to teach students how to chop with knives, mix ingredients, and make flavorful dressing and marinades for salads and stir-frys. Students have tried smoothies, healthy snacks, drinks, as well as main dishes. Our students call this program food science and have loved preparing and eating new foods!
