Thank you to everyone who came out for the tree tapping at the EIC last Saturday! If you would like to help collect the sap, a sign up sheet is available in the EIC. You can choose what days you are available, and you will be contacted on days when it is warm enough to collect the sap!

Hello all!
Today ECO Club is participating in Giving Blueday! Giving Blueday, inspired by Giving Tuesday, is a 24-hour virtual fundraising campaign for the University of Michigan. This day provides an opportunity for students, faculty, alumni, and their family and friends to give to causes they believe in.
You can find our personal fundraising link here: https://www.givingblueday.org/campaigns/um-dearborn-eco-club
Anyone will be able to donate using this link (or by searching for ECO Club on the Giving Blueday site) until 11:59pm tonight.
Finally, there are some matching incentives that I would like to emphasize (all of which can be found here):
First time donor match: First time U-M donors who give $50 or more will receive a match of $50. Excludes students.
Student donor match: Student donors who give $25 or more will receive a match of $25. Excludes alumni.
Thank you all for your support!

The Permaculture garden is starting to shape up! This week we have cleared away debris and weeds, and planted basil, parsley, and cucumbers—more planting is yet to come next week! Join us next Tuesday in front of the science faculty building at 2pm if you’re interested in helping out!

Hello everyone! I am excited to announce that ECO just began working on our Permaculture Orchard on campus. For those of you who are unfamiliar with permaculture, it involves higher-density planting. We have an area on campus where we will be planting and maintaining a variety of fruits, vegetables, and herbs with the goal of providing the majority of our harvest to the campus food pantry. Generally it will require only a few hours of work at most per week. We are in great need of some extra hands to help with the Permaculture Orchard—any time anyone could give would be wonderful!
If you are interested please email Elizabeth Raupp at [email protected]

Happy Earth Day everyone! Enjoy this recycling tip!
If you happen to have a lot of eggs on your hands...check this out! Recycling Eggshells!
ETA: Hard boiled egg shells are not recommended because it is difficult to remove all bits of egg from the shells, and there is the possibility that those bits could spoil.
