Be sure to share this around with University of Michigan students, faculty, staff, and community.
From our statement:
As a response [to the recent "cafe" events], Student Government, in collaboration with the Flint campus' Student Government, is hosting a dialogue event on Friday, September 18th, 2020, 3 to 5:15 p.m. This is open to all campus community members. Please keep in mind that while having these discussions, we must stay respectful and empathetic to the communities who are hurting.
The dialogue will be centered around a few related topics, such as the hurtful promotion of the events, race-based affinity groups, how the events were not promoted as such, how the harmful promotion is negatively affecting the community, some of the vile online racism that has resulted as a response, how we as a community can heal, and administration and leadership can learn from this.
We would like more input from the community on related topics to include and have created a form in order for people to submit their ideas and suggestions. https://bit.ly/3kdfY7m

The new administration successfully passed the first summer resolution yesterday, Friday, June 26th, 2020.
More updates to come.
This is only the first step to fighting for lower tuition for Fall. We will be voting on more resolutions that detail student needs more directly. If you are interested on fighting for lower tuition, check out VictorsLink and sign up as a fellow!
