We’ve all heard it before, but the reality is the liberal arts aren't about choosing between passion and a career; they're about building the skills to do both.
To explore the reality behind the misconceptions about the liberal arts, two students sat down with four of our CASL faculty members to discuss the value of a liberal arts degree, the skills employers are seeking, and how disciplines across the arts, sciences, and humanities prepare students for a wide range of careers.

Congrats to our alum April! Much deserved!
Congratulations to CASL staff member April Marvin, Digital Marketing and Content Specialist in the Dean’s office for being awarded a CASL Celebrating All Staff Loyalty Award!
Per her nomination from Social Sciences Department Chair, Natalia Czap, “I am nominating April for her help developing the Social Sciences and the StEEP program webpages. The SSCI site in particular took a lot of back-and-forth because we kept refining things, and April was incredibly patient and supportive through the whole process. She really listened to our feedback, proposed solutions that fit what we actually wanted (instead of a one-size-fits-all approach), and did her best to advocate for us when changes were harder to implement. Thanks to her work, both main and child web pages look great!”
🎉Thank you, April, for your hard work, dedication and commitment, and the support you bring to CASL every day. Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition!
